For those of you who applied to epidemiology programs, what are your thoughts on these two schools? I am deciding between McGill and Queen's epidemiology. For McGill, global institutional reputation and the beautiful location are obvious reasons. I'm assuming its reputation also means better faculty and a more diverse class. For Queen's, the faculty/admin seem very supportive and I heard that its easier for Queen's students to publish. McGill touts its emphasis on quantitative skills helps its students more when looking for jobs but I see plenty of Queen's students getting employed as well. Anyone have any thoughts?

Applying to a few different Epi programs in Canada and was wondering if anyone knows how the Queen's MSc. Epi is unique/different than other epi programs? Besides that it's research based with no practicum.

Hi All. First time grad applicant here. Do people usually apply to CIHR OGS-M before entering grad studies or in their first year of study? From my limited experience, it seems like its easier if you apply in first year of masters given support from your supervisors and how you probably have a clearer idea of your research.
