This is a pickle. There are threads on here of people, not so much negotiating as asking to be considered for opportunities that add into or top off their stipend. But I haven't seen anything at the MA level so I'm not sure if funding opportunities differ there. It might be worth asking them, though.

You mean the page that now says it's under revision and has the "pre 2017" doc and the "post 2017" doc? Pretty sure it didn't say that before. Maybe they did change things. Also, the amount you are preparing for this is making me very nervous. Do you think we'll need that on the "conversation" (which feels like an interview, even if it's technically not) or do you just want it for reference? My call is on Saturday, so you're my canary in the mine.

Were you hoping to work with Ross Gay? If so, the upside is he's one of those poets who does visiting workshops all over the place, all the time. So there's a lot of opportunities to work with him outside of the traditional MFA if you end up somewhere else. (I was a fiction emphasis in my MFA, but I love Ross Gay and Patrick Rosal).

Ahhh! I just got the Vanderbilt acceptance email!!! I thought, since it was an email notification, all the acceptances went out at once. I have to change my signature!

I am a fan! I say this because A saying you're not a fan in the city right now is an invitation to a fight and B the city's enthusiasm is contagious. My favorite team is Not-The-Patriots, so this Super Bowl really worked out for me. Welcome! And yes, this would be nice to know. I mean, I get they don't want me, but how much do they not want me?

Congrats! Hooray for all the Pittsburgh news. One of my favorite people I met at Rutgers is currently a PhD student there, so it must be a good place for good people :-)
