FYI if anybody applied to Rutgers-Camden (which you all should because it's funded and Philadelphia is a fantastic town) they are still reviewing apps. I say this because they have historically been earlier notifiers (I was accepted there on Jan 28th) and didn't want anyone freaking out. Sidenote: If you have any questions about the programs, feel free to ask.

Wise. Too many people. I was stoked that no one was angry or fighting, and seemed to be in good (great) spirits. But I was still really nervous about the crowd. I couldn't even handle seeing the people climbing on the ledges of building. I was too afraid for them!

ooooh boy. When I started my MFA I transported two chihuahuas - one fairly ordinary, playful dog, and one with an anxiety disorder so bad our vets keep asking if he'll take medication (Matzo's really only that bad IN the vets office, otherwise his fear/anxiety are manageable) - from Southern California to Philadelphia by car. We'll call it an experience. We got one of those hammock things that covers the whole backseat, just for Matzo to spend the whole time looking out of it and crying like he was being kidnapped (see below). 0/10 stars. Do not recommend.

If you guys researched the schools to ensure he's a good fit and there are people there he could work with, I wouldn't worry too much. I'm mean, yes, there's something to the idea of the "it's a numbers game" approach, but someone applying to 3 schools that they actually researched for fit is in a better position, in my totally uninformed opinion, than those who shotgun apps broadly without considering fit.
