  1. Which school is this mass notification for?
  2. I'd be pretty peeved if I have to wait through another weekend =/
  3. There's a post with identical note for UC Berkeley ECE PhD - that post indicates the rejection was received March 30, 2017. So yes and no - the post seems legitimate but just the wrong application year (F17 seems to be the person's target year).
  4. Only 200 times? These days, I close one gradcafe tab, pause for a few seconds, and then proceed to open gradcafe again, forgetting that I was JUST on it... I think I need help haha
  5. I bet they check thegradcafe and wanted to see us all freak out
  6. Maaaaaaaaan, MIT EECS is such a troll, sending out this email: "Thank you for applying to our graduate program in EECS at MIT. Our graduate admissions committee is working diligently in the evaluation of all applications. We wish to share two pieces of information with you. 1. Admission notifications will be issued over a period of time and completed by the end of February.2. For applicants who are admitted into our graduate program, our visit days begin the evening of Tuesday, March 6th and end late afternoon on Thursday, March 8.Thank you again for your submission." Got me excited for no reason
  7. How did you get the 3500+ number? Is it an estimate? Also, based on the host (Prof Daniel), I'm suspecting those meetings might just be for integrated circuits groups (although CIRC seems like a weird way to abbreviate that..).
  8. I saw that too, but only ~5 hours?! Wonder what CIRC stands for..
  9. Is it perhaps the "EE Search Committee Meeting" on 26th from 8am-6pm? I hate that only some groups of EECS do interviews, and I don't know which ones
  10. No real publications. It's not so much bravery and more a cost-benefit analysis of leaving industry for school. I believe I can develop as a researcher within industry (albeit longer initial ramp up) to a comparable degree to doing a PhD. As such, I can't justify leaving industry for vast majority of places. Also, my interests are quite niche and many other top-tier schools didn't have the best fit.
