@E. Karenina fair warning, the UMass interview was the most formal-feeling I've had so far. Everyone was very kind, but it definitely didn't feel as relaxed or conversational as the others I've experienced. (Also, don't expect to make Gil smile... he's very nice but has a *serious* poker face!)
Partly because of the more formal interview, the casual lunch was definitely appreciated and gives a great chance for you to ask any questions you have for them--don't be shy about it!

@MadamDirector So glad to hear you had a beautiful experience at BU! I had also stopped checking Northwestern and UCSD thinking their windows had closed. There's still a glimmer of hope there. Did you have your Amherst interview already as well?

@E. Karenina UMass interview is tomorrow, but I'm sitting in on a rehearsal tonight as well. They've been so accommodating over email; I'm excited to meet them in person.

I just got an email from UCSD a few hours ago, and it sounds like they’re adding interviews too!

@Eccyclema I’m right there with you re: Yale. 
I got an email from UT asking me to come to campus for an interview, that will be 3 in one week because I just got an email invite from Northwestern as well. They’re doing 3 more days of interviews and scheduled them in teirs so I’m heading out there next week. 
UCSD emailed me today to set up a Skype interview.

Sorry for the long absence, I've been lurking and following this thread, but realized I haven't posted anything since November!!
@Squidpunk that's awesome! Were you there the whole weekend at Columbia/ did you get a chance to see any student shows? I was there by chance seeing a show my friend wrote and directed as part of the playwriting MFA.
I touched on this before, but I'm only applying to UK schools so the process has been a bit different for me, but it's so cool so see the differences and similarities in both applications and interviews!
I've been offered places at 3 of my schools, and was just invited to interview at another which has held the 'top' spot in my brain for the better part of a year and a half, and the interview's later this month, so I'll be spending all my time off preparing as it's rather intense! I think it's kinda like the Yale interview, as it takes place over an entire weekend. I'm so excited

Still waiting on word from UCSD and Northwestern (assuming it's a no from Northwestern).

@E. Karenina that's awesome news about UMass! I found out last night going to be there on the 12th. (So grateful I could connect that with my BU visit and save on travel.) 
I think I'm in the same boat as you with Northwestern. Alas. 

Yea I have heard pretty negative experiences with CMU interviews. What a shame! 
So exciting to hear about all these 2nd interviews! Looks like I’ll be going out to LA for CalArts 2nd round! YAY!

Anyone have any updates? We've been awfully quiet on here...waiting is brutal!

Had my CalArts interview today. Really interesting conversation and more casual than I expected. He’s hard to read but I think it went well! 

@MadamDirector I feel both of those statements spiritually. 

Just finished my Skype interview with UW. Two main takeaways:
1. Skype is the devil. 
2. Valerie Curtis-Newton is amazing, and if she wanted to adopt me I would be 100% on board. 

Just got the first round interview request from CMU, I know a lot of folks got it already.  Heading to New Haven on Thursday.  Thanks for sharing your experiences with the Yale interviews, its been helpful to hear about the types of questions they ask.
