  1. So the program does exist. Mystery solved. Oh, and CONGRATS!!!
  2. Sadly, I did not apply to the on-line program.
  3. I have not heard anything and my LORIS remains unchanged. I am preparing for rejection and recognize that there are areas in my application that could definitely use improvement (specifically academics). I just have to decide if I'm willing to do that or perhaps doing the post-degree BSW is the better route. I do believe that applying for the MSW was a great learning experience for me and I have definitely had some time to do some additional reflection while waiting for a decision. I know that I am capable of working in this field and I am also capable of acceptance into a BSW program as I was accepted to Dalhousie and UVic in 2016 but it wasn't the right time. Perhaps this isn't the right time for my MSW either... Being on this forum helps me to see all of the equally qualified applicants and makes the competitiveness of this process a stark reality. I am thrilled for everyone who has been accepted thus far. Congrats! It makes me feel better knowing that for many of you who were accepted this year that it wasn't your 'first rodeo', so to speak. This was my first application and I have already identified areas that could use improvement. It is hard to convey everything you want in 1000 words and now I am not so sure that I did the best job that I could have done in that respect. I am already thinking of what I can do better the next time around if need be. To those who are still awaiting their fate like myself, this isn't the end of the road for us. Although it may not be the outcome that we had hoped for we have to realize that some people have to climb the mountain more than once in order to reach the summit.
  4. This is fabulous news! Congrats!
  5. I am confused by the fact that the on-line applicants seem to have heard nothing so far. The way this whole process is unfolding makes it to hard to even speculate at this point. Especially considering so many people on here have applied to Laurier and only 5 people have heard (at least one of which who posted that they were accepted seems to have recently joined the forum.) Everyone is still in the running. At least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!!! Cheers to another restless and sleep deprived night! ?
  6. I would say that we will have to wait until tomorrow to hear anything at this point. ????
  7. The acceptances are rolling out like a leaky faucet. Drip...drip...drip... Ah, the anguish and anticipation.
  8. I feel your pain. Constantly playing "what if's" in my mind ALL day and night. It's such a stressful time and so out of our control now. Hopefully it won't be much longer...
  9. Hi all, I know that this is such a stressful time for everyone regardless of each individual's current situation. I thought that this video might help. We all have different timelines for success, be it this year for some and maybe not for another few years for others, but in the end we will all find success! Hopefully tomorrow renders some very good news for many! https://jayshetty.me/before-you-feel-pressure/
  10. I have not received an email either and my Loris is unchanged. Trying not to let my anxiety get to me but it’s tough. As so may others on here, the direction of my future is dependent on whether or not I am accepted. I also feel the stress you are experiencing waiting for an outcome. I’m going to try to go about my day as usual with hopes that we will all have an answer soon. Wishing everyone all the best of outcomes. You are not alone!
  11. If you get an MSW or BSW you will register with the college of Social Workers and be just fine. No need to worry. Yes, the SWAT test was crazy. Too many words to be honest. I found that I was able to answer most questions under the requested word count and then felt the need to “fill” in order to meet the minimum. It took me 5 hours to complete and at that point I was finished mentally and didn’t even bother proof reading. Submit was all I did. Oh, and then proceeded to guzzle a bottle of wine. It was HARD!!!! I feel your pain. ?
  12. Thank you for the information.
  13. I just heard about this new legislation this morning from a Social Worker. I had no idea either. Ugh, June and only 25 people...:(
  14. You spoke with someone in the Faculty of Social Work about this?
