Hi everyone, I contacted NPSIA and was informed that a research scholarship is an RAship that involves 120 hours (or 5 hours a week) of research activities either with a prof within your specialization or within one of the research units (the centres are here: https://carleton.ca/npsia/research/research-centres/). Exciting stuff! -

Hi all, Happy Monday My specialization was added this morning and my status changed from "Recommended for assessment" to "Review in progress by department." It looks like the process is moving slowly but surely. Has anyone else seen a change today? -

It was manageable. I would suggest touching base with friends or colleagues who have a solid understanding of economics before you start. It could be helpful to bounce ideas off of them as you go through if you are not sure of some of the subject matter. -

That should be per semester. As for the Carleton Econ course, I took it last summer online (VOD) while taking 2 other courses and working fulltime. It was challenging because of the sheer volume of readings and work you need to complete in such a short period of time. If you fall behind it can be very difficult to catch up. On the flipside, the prof and TAs were very responsive to all student questions. -

Loopylex, I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say thank you for all of the invaluable advice and insight you've provided! I just re-added Duolingo to my phone - great idea! My German is rusty and my French is essentially nonexistent. As for the application, my last name starts with J, my references were all in by the end of November, but my statement of intent took some work and wasn't in until mid-January. I'm a domestic student. My top choices were Intelligence followed by Security. I don't have any updates to share other than that Carleton Central still has me down as "Recommended for assessment." -

I just got an email as well ☺ I'm really excited! As with everyone else, an amount for funding wasn't available. Even though I didn't post anything, I was lurking around this feed which definitely helped with the wait. Good luck everyone ☺ Hopefully, the offers start to go out to everyone soon! In Carleton Central, my status still says "recommended for assessment."
