  1. DECISIONS UP, not emailed yet! In with some funding, so excited. Future people looking at this thread, don't worry if you didn't get the application update email.
  2. Decisions are coming out this evening everyone! Good luck. http://sites.tufts.edu/fletcheradmissions/2018/03/13/swirling-snow-work-continues-apace/
  3. Yes, that was just a misnamed newsletter. Separate from and prior to that though, there were the individualized emails from adcom thanking applicants mentioning specific points of their application ("we enjoyed reading about your xyz"). That's the one I never received, but hey, maybe it's not the kiss of death!
  4. In!! Nothing about funding here either.
  5. Hi! I wish I could tell you more specifically what it said, but I didn't receive one. If you look at this thread, you'll see some applicants received personalized emails in February regarding their applications. There's no clear indication that this means admission (or that not receiving one means rejection; it's possible that they send the emails to only a subset of high priority accepted applicants), so interpret that however you will.
  6. Red wine and reality television.
  7. Oh cool, I'll continue anxiously staring at my inbox for another week straight... Thanks for that heads up! All the best to you as well.
  8. Has anyone been in touch with their office regarding decision day? Not expecting positive news (my biggest reach, and I didn't get that personalized email in February) but I'm anxious for it. Seems like it was March 10 last year so I'm hoping for Friday this year, can anyone confirm?
  9. Update from me: since receiving admission, I've had really positive correspondences with Brown around program information and financial support. I look forward to meeting on Admitted Students' Day!
  10. In as well, eager to hear about funding. For those of you who didn't get the news you were looking for today: sending lots of positivity your way. Lots of different roads to beautiful places!
  11. Received today's emails, but not the personalized one.
  12. A little worried since I haven't heard anything yet (submitted Dec 15). Were all of you notified first via email/the online portal? I'm an American living abroad, hoping the delay is a result of snail-mail and not rejection!
  13. I see the envelope too. Good luck everyone.
  14. Hello! Thanks for the kind words. I won't say the exact amount, but I'll say it's a very, very low 4-digit number, ha. Insignificant in my decision-making, as it stands. Once I hear from other schools regarding admission and financial aid, I may try to negotiate up but my expectations are low based on the initial offer. It's currently hovering around third place in my choice rankings, with the major selling points being that it's 1) a one-year degree and 2) a small cohort. Name recognition is tough to factor, as the program doesn't have much weight on its own when compared to HKS, SIPA, etc but the school name obviously does (I think it's important to know what industry/job you're targeting beyond the MPA to understand how this will play out - I don't foresee it being a massive issue in my case). You hit the nail on the head re: employment prospect information - I find that most other programs I'm applying to are pretty loud and proud about their alumni networks and career routes. Brown's network is probably just too fresh to showcase stats in this way, I imagine it's solid and will get stronger with time. A school visit + some candid chats with alumni should clarify some of these points, but I'll wait until spring to explore further. Will report back if I learn anything interesting!
  15. I think it would vary a bit by program, but my take from visiting Fletcher: you should be able to navigate a professional environment with relative ease. Your Spanish sounds like it's nearly there. Their program distinguishes between oral and reading proficiency, and you need to score a bit better on the latter in order to fulfill graduation requirements. More on this here: http://fletcher.tufts.edu/~/media/Fletcher/Microsites/congratulations/Foreign Language Entry 2014-15 Handbook.pdf I'm in the same boat with you as Spanish, and will work on it ASAP once I hear admissions decisions. I plan on taking a local class to boost my oral abilities and self-studying some of my old academic resources to refresh my reading skills. Did you study Spanish or Arabic in school at any point? If you take the next few months to boost your reading skills in either language, you may be able to get yourself to a more comfortable position and then fine tune throughout your studies. You'll notice that this program also has a lower requirement for Arabic, and it's possible that other programs adjust for difficulty as well.
  16. Admitted with minimal funding. For anyone wondering: low GPA with an upward trend, average GRE. Strong essays, work experience and LORs. It's hard to get a good feel for a relatively new program with minimal information online, so I might head to campus for admitted students day depending on other admissions results.
  17. Waiting to hear as well. It seems that decisions went out on Feb 17th last year, so Friday of this week seems like a possibility.
