  1. omg that is insane... did you accept the offer in July lol
  2. Whole bunch of Uchicago MS acceptances came out... looks like they are all from international students.. so I might still have a chance???
  3. I applied to UIUC January 20ish and heard back yesterday. Don't worry, still lots of time left
  4. Hi, is anyone familiar with this program? How many people get accepted from its master program each year? How competitive is it? https://stat.illinois.edu/academics/graduate-programs/degree-programs/ms-phd-transfer
  5. I think they send an email to tell you to check the website. Still nothing yet rippppppp not looking good
  6. Rippp I see. Hopefully, it doesn't matter too much in terms of admission.
  7. I also applied to Duke MS. Will it be helpful to request the interview now?
  8. @tropicannie Is the phd - tracked master's program something you apply to or you get placed in it after applying to the phd program?
  9. @tropicannie Hi I have some question about nc state's master program. do you know how heavy the workload is for the summer online session? Is it possible to work full time over summer while taking the summer classes? also, does the Phd program at ncsu admit many students from its master program? (I understand its not a pipeline program, but is it likely to make the jump from master to phd in such short program)
  10. bump.. I'm stuck on the Michigan Personal statement too. What exactly should I write about in the personal statement. Would love hear more input from current and past applicants
  11. Hi I'm applying to Stat MS programs this cycle and I'm wondering if there are any significant differences between a resume used in grad school application vs a normal resume for job seeking. Are there anything I should add, take out or emphasize in the application resume? Thank you very much
  12. Can you share the code? I want to do it for all the "stats" applicants also.
  13. I'm in a similar situation as you are, changing my list of school every couple days.. anxious af and its not even application season yet. Anyways I've read a lot of application result posts, both here on grad cafe and on 1point3acres (Chinese Grad Cafe). Best advice is to just apply to a wide ranges of school. 2-3 reaches. 3-5 targets and 2-3 safeties. Also apply to couple biostat programs, it's less competitive than stat. some random things i learned from all the threads i read: Top 5 is basically crap shoot unless you have the perfect profile. Consider program size when you apply, some of the smaller, less prestigious programs might be harder to get into than the bigger, high ranked programs. If you are going to the industry after masters, ranking doesn't matter in the eyes of the employers.
  14. It depends on the program, I think Michigan and couple other places do this.
  15. @cyberwulf Thank you for your reply. I've decided to only apply to Statistics Masters programs. Do you have any recommendation on what ranges of schools I should apply to? So far I have UNC, Duke, NCSU, Wisconsin, Chicago, Michigan and Penn State on my list. My biggest fear is getting rejected from every single program ?
