They replied to my email letting me know that I was on the waitlist. FYI for anyone else waiting on Memorial, I took myself off the waitlist since I've already accepted Lakehead, so maybe a spot will open up for the person who was next on the list after me!

Just to add to that, I've had zero communication from Memorial. No rejection, no waitlist, no acceptance! I've emailed them to ask what's up but so far no reply... I agree, things seem to be slow this year.

I live in Victoria and work fairly closely with some UVic public health/HSD people, and I deliberately applied elsewhere! I'm doing the MPH online too (not thesis-based though). My reasoning was that by keeping up my UVic connections at the same time as doing my MPH courses at a different university, I might be able to get a broader range of experiences and perspectives. However, I already work for the health authority so haven't had to worry about program reputation or CPHA ranking because the MPH for me will not be the determining factor in getting a job - so I can't comment from that angle.

Lakehead, UVic and McMaster also offer a thesis option. And probably others I don't know about.

The admissions committee met on April 12th to discuss applicants (at least, that was the plan...) and the program director said that they would be starting to send out results shortly after that.

Yeah, I've totally geeked out and organized my course schedule for the next four years already too Now if they change the electives everything will be thrown into confusion!

Not sure if other places are the same, but after I accepted my spot at Lakehead I didn't hear anything either. I paid my deposit and after few days that payment showed up on my online application account, but it took about two weeks for Lakehead to actually acknowledge my acceptance via email or notification!

Someone on here said they had until April 19th to accept their Lakehead offer (Nursing), so maybe that is the time after which they will send out another round of offers?

I believe (but I may be wrong) that Lakehead doesn't send offers by streams, but makes offers to candidates regardless of the stream they have applied for. So I guess the short answer is that *some* Lakehead offers have gone out but they seem to be across multiple streams. And I assume that as people reject the offers, more will go out. I had until April 3rd to accept and I think I saw someone else who had until this week to accept, so it seems to be a bit of a rolling process. EDIT: I can't find where I read this, so I might be crazy.

Pros and cons spreadsheet! :-) That's my nerd answer to everything. But seriously, are you thinking of getting into a job that requires an Epi specialization? It seems like you can take equal numbers of Epi courses (actually maybe even more Epi courses) at Waterloo than at Lakehead, you just won't come out with Epi in the title of your degree. You can still mention all the Epi courses you've taken if you apply for a job that needs them. I guess also, there is a requirement to be on campus a couple of times at Waterloo but not at Lakehead... and a Capstone project at Waterloo but not at Lakehead... so in the end, I think it would come down to which program gives you the most things you want in a degree and which will be more useful for you in the future. [Disclaimer: I've accepted a place at Lakehead]

I'm going to play Devil's advocate here. I think you have to look at your reasons for going to grad school. Is it solely to get into your desired job asap? If so, accepting Western seems like a sensible decision. Are finances a consideration? If so, maybe going through the most expensive program isn't the best idea. Are there particular courses at UofT that Western doesn't offer, or something about that program in particular that made it your first choice? If so, would you feel like you missed out on something/that you "settled" if you went to Western? I took a year off between undergrad and grad school and got a job. It meant I had more money, more maturity and more experience when I did apply to grad studies. A year here and there is no big deal, especially if you do something useful with it. In the end, I'm a firm believer in going with your gut. Doesn't matter what other people think, you are the one that has to live with the decision :-) If you're a nerd like me, you can also make a spreadsheet of pros and cons... Lol.

Forgot to also say that I'm doing Lakehead's flex program, as I'll be working full time and doing the MPH part time.

I am a mature student, currently working in a health authority and going back to school after fifteen years in the work force (mostly in universities). I have an undergrad and a Master's degree from before. Also my schooling was all done in the UK so I have a bit of a weird application profile :-)

I applied to Lakehead and was accepted into the Indigenous and Northern Health program (course stream). I had until April 3rd to accept the offer (and I did accept it). Not sure if this helps or not! Also, their 2016 acceptance stats are here... although they don't say how many people applied to each stream.

It's allowed, but you'd lose your deposit that you paid when you accepted. Universities know that some people will accept and then reject later because of 'better offers' or because of life getting in the way. That's why they make sure the deposit is non-refundable ;-) Although if you're doing a thesis and have someone set up to supervise you, it's not really good form to tell them that you're going to work with them and then go back on your word later... however it happens and it's usually not a big deal (my experience working in admissions only, others may have different experiences).

I second the staying positive approach! It seems like quite a few people on here have received multiple offers, and therefore will have to turn some offers down. I used to work in a med school admissions office and you'd be surprised at the number of offers we would send out in the second wave once the first wave people had considered their options and made a final decision. And even a third wave of offers. Just because you haven't heard yet, it doesn't mean that you won't be starting in an MPH program in the Fall :-)

For anyone waiting on Memorial U, they emailed me today to say that their admissions committee meets on April 12th and notifications will start going out after that. Also, they received more than 350 applications.

For Lakehead, the portal status changed first (I just happened to check it ) and then the next day I got the email through. For Alberta, my portal has not changed from 'pending' but I got a phone call from the department.
