You both will LOVE it in Bloomington, unless you need big-city-livin'. My partner did his PhD in English (Brit Lit) there many moons ago and we head over a couple times a year to visit with his old friends, go to music festivals, etc. Lovely and supportive community, both at IU and outside of academe in Bloomington. Congrats! p.s. I applied to IU-Bloomington years ago and didn't get so much as a waitlist spot. Reading your posts makes me wish I'd given it another shot.

Hi, mk-8. I'm brand-spanking-new to posting here, so I apologize if my question is inappropriate. I'm trying to make a decision about a few comp/rhet options and I'm also leaning toward declining my TTU offer. I only applied to three programs but I've been waiting to hear from the last one before making any decisions. I feel bad holding onto spots that should be filled by those on waitlists, though. Probably a PM would be a better venue to discuss this, but I'm wondering what's led to your decision to decline TTU's offer.
