I agree. I applied because I went to UofT.. I didn't think to apply anywhere else. Idk it all happened so quick. I didn't know the whole thing about tuition costs and pay rate etc. Until it was to late.
-
I just don't understand why they would waitlist so many people if they say the admission from the waitlist is low.. why make the applicants wait and go through all this..
-
I really hope so! I wonder how big the waitlist is.. Since Ab1643 got an answer I think that means they are close to the end of the application list.

Anyone waitlisted hear any news?
-
Thanks! I've seen this link before but it's confusing. It says they accepted 800 people, but only 416 attended.. not sure how many actual spaces they have.

Hey, does anyone know how many spots approximately the MT program has? Either from past years or for this year?
-
Has anyone on this forum been let in from the waiting list? Does anyone know when or if the waitlist starts to move? Thanks!!
-
Hey! They will send an official letter of admission if you made it in from the waitlist. Even if you dont make it in from the waitlist theyll still send a notification.
-
Nice! What was your GPA for your year before last year? if you don't mind me asking. I'm thinking this is why I may have been waitlisted.
-
Congrats! What subjects and division are you in? When did you apply?
-
Hey did anyone from this year get in from being on a waitlist? Thanks !!

Considering how incredibly fustrating it is to be waitlisted I am still greatful for having some kind of chance. For whoever gets waitlisted, if you visit this website: https://ro.oise.utoronto.ca/RO_Stats.htm It tells you the stats the program in the past year has had. They sent out about 800 offers to the MT program, and about 400 accepted their offer. So either they over accept, or there is a still a good chance for the waitlisted people to get in (as they would have 400 more spaces open if they dont over accept-- this also would mean that for example, if 400 people were on a waitlist, then technically 400 people would be offered admission from this waitlist since at the beginning they offered 800 seats..) I've tried to look for threads online about people who got waitlisted and who actually got into the MT program in the past but I've had no luck. Anyone know anyone who have gotten in from the waitlist? Anyways, I hope this gives us a little more hope. So far on this forum I think there is 3 of us who got waitlisted.

I just got waitlisted yesterday afternoon. I emailed someone to inquire about the reasoning for this and they said "well-qualified candiants were waitlisted due to space". They also said they can't talk about the reasoning for a decision until a final decision is actually made. This fustrates me so much.. I am just thinking they already reached max acceptances and waitlisted the rest.. which isn't fair. Since clearly we have the academic criteria as we weren't rejected. Also, I agree with you-- people who haven't recieved a response yet will most likely also be waitlisted as they have reached max acceptance since there is a waitlist to begin with. I was told that there is a "high chance" of being admitted.. but idk what this even means. We had to wait literally so long (2 months past March 31st) just to be said we are on the waitlist.. so more waiting.. 3 more months of waiting to be exact (until mid-August). Waiting is extremely stressful, they should expand the program.

I totally understand everything you are saying here. I have a feeling I got waitlisted too since I've applied before the Nov 15th deadline and have not heard back yet. In regards to work, a simialr thing is happening to me. I have a job offer and I don't know what to do.. If I do get waitlisted I wonder how this policy works? Is it because they've already hit the max amount of acceptances before reviewing all? I don't get how they can send out some responses when they did not review all. What makes a person get waitlisted? Obviously requirements are met if you haven't been rejected.. Did you apply to all divisions? If so, did you get waitlisted fofo all divisions? Was this sent on SGS? Maybe there is someone you can talk to about the probability of getting in once waitlisted?

How did you know you got waitlisted?? Also, when you got waitlisted did they say for which division, or how does this work?
