  1. Thank you! It's great to know these possibilities. Good luck on your interview! Interview seems to be a process of matching ( both to the student and to the school) so I'm sure you'll go somewhere you really like.
  2. Thank you so much! It's good news indeed! It is such a relief. Many thanks! Best of luck on your application process!
  3. That's a good suggestion! But I'm not sure whether there are some differences between the requirements of certification in different states ( I guess there are) which may make moving process difficult. Wow that sounds great! Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm from China and Mandarin is my mother tongue, is this kind of bilingual? I know some programs with bilingual orientation in Spanish. Chinese seems not to be a widely used language in US. Anyway, it is very nice of you to come up with all these ideas. Thank you!
  4. Thanks! Lehigh university. I checked the NASP website and found that in Pennsylvania certification is only given to US citizens.
  5. Just got my first acceptance! So excited! It is a really nice faculty and I enjoyed the whole process of interview. The only thing that I am concerned is that it seems that as an international student I am not eligible to get a license after I graduate in that state. If it is true, I feel so sad.
  6. I just received an email from the first school I applied and it said I was put into waitlist. I am surprised because I didn't even get an interview invitation. I was thinking that not getting into the interview means unofficially rejection. So there is still hope, right? That is a really great program and also has high requirements. Finger crossed. In the meantime worrying about my two incoming interviews (probably the only two). The whole application process is intimidating!
  7. Thank you so much! It's very nice of you! Yes I asked her and she gave me some really helpful suggestions. Finally settle all the traveling stuffs.
  8. I applied to UW for EdS and haven't heard back. UW is my top choice so I really hope to get the chance to attend the interview. I just found the 2018-2019 handbook and it says interview day will be February 8 and interview invitation are offered by the second week of January. I guess it is not a good news. Anyway, we could still wait for other schools.
  9. My interview buddy said the same thing, and she also mentioned that each interview would last about 15 to 30 minutes.
  10. Thank you so much for sharing this! I was assigned a interview buddy as well and just sent her an email to ask about the process of individual interview. I guess the answer would be the same. At the bottom of the interview agenda, there are current students' names which are in pairs. I think it would be the same as what will go for the interview day.
  11. Congrats! I applied to UF and OSU as well, though both of them are EdS programs. Leighannimal and I will attend February 1st interview of UF. I also received that email yesterday and found all the interviewees' email addresses, which I haven't thought about. Looking at the names, there will be 17 students on February 1st. Since Leighannimal is applying for PhD and I am applying for EdS, all the applicants must be together. Best of luck!
  12. So many things to prepare! Yes the impression is important by what you look like. Pulling it back would be great or is there any way you could both keep your current color and look professional? Like dye only the surface hair back to a natural color but keep others? I am checking flights and accommodations, and it seems that I have to fly from New York City to Orlando first, then take a bus to UF. Still trying to figure out all these traveling stuffs.
  13. That would be great! Having a friend there would comfort me a lot. I guess business casual would be a safe option. Wearing too fancy attire could be double-edged. It seems that we will be walking a lot according to the email such as campus tour. I am thinking about wearing flattie ( I can't walk in heels though). If there is enough time to change clothes, we could prepare two pieces, one for formal interview and one for other social events. The detailed agenda will help us solve the problem
  14. Congrats! Me too! Haha perhaps we could meet on that day but I'm not sure whether EdS and PhD applicants will be together. My friend who did a skype interview with UF told me that they just asked some regular questions such as why school psychology, why their program, etc. They may also ask some questions about something they found interesting in your CV. And the last part was always what do you want to ask them. He applied to EdS and the a PhD interview may focus more on research. I guess the questions in the on-site interview will be similar though there will be more interaction with faculty and current graduate students. Good luck!
  15. Thank you! Wow it's a great idea to watch videos on YouTube. I will try it too. I am also trying to connect with my peers who have already been admitted to school psychology program to seek for some advice. Still waiting for their reply. Best of luck!!
  16. Thank you for sharing! It's really helpful! I have never tried black suits before but I think I need to get one before the interview. Yes it is important to feel comfortable. They haven't sent me the detailed agenda of the interview day but It seems to be a packed day. A black folio would be a great idea. I'm also considering bringing my copy of CV. Thank you! I should check the weather in FL now
  17. I just received an interview invite from UF! Excited but nervous! I'm not sure whether I could go to the campus or do a skype interview since I live in China. It would be a long flight and I worry a lot about the jet lag. I was also wondering what I should prepare for the interview, the answer for possible questions, dressing code? Apart from interview part, there will be luncheon and evening social with graduate students. I guess these two parts will be more casual but I still feel anxious. Sorry I worry about the interview too much.
  18. There is limited information about School Psychology when I search via Google. I found these forums just a couple of days ago as well. Better late than never Thank you! This website is really helpful though I am applying for EdS. It seems that the there were fewer and fewer students applying during the past few years, which means the chance of being admitted is greater. I hope this trend will be the same for this year
  19. I received that email, too! It is great to know the process of admission, which definitely makes me less nervous. Some other schools I applied haven't sent any notification of review or invitation so I guess the only thing I could do is wait. It is wonderful to go to the school where you live! UF seems quite nice when I read their website. I didn't look at other Florida programs but it is likely that the USF programs is great based on the posts of previous years. You may know those schools better than me since you live there haha. Good luck!
  20. Hi! Although I didn't apply to PhD, I did see on the school websites that they say the admission evaluation would be a holistic process, namely GRE score is only one part of them. You got good GPA and great research experience, which will definitely compensate for your GRE scores in some extent. Also, some schools may offer the option to write a GRE statement to explain why you didn't get satisfying score. Perhaps you could try it.
  21. Hi! I am applying to EdS program for Fall 2019. I hope to apply to PhD program after I finish EdS because I do not think I am qualified for PhD candidate now. I have applied to University of Minnesota Twin Cities, University of Florida, University of Washington, Ohio State University and Lehigh University. And there will be three more schools in January. I used APA website to search for APA-credited programs. Although they are all PhD programs, I think it is better to choose a school which provides both EdS and PhD based on my academic plan. And then I just used school websites and program handbooks to learn more information ( curricula, professor's area of expertise, etc. ). It is great to know there are other people who are applying to school psychology, too! As an international student, I am quite nervous since it seems that some programs haven't admitted international students in the past. Good luck to everyone!
