Finished the draft of my personal statement for the school with a December 15th deadline!

I gave in and emailed my third recommender...I don't think she'll be too annoyed with me.

I am applying to Temple also.

Yeah I'm fighting against a really strong urge to email her even though I just saw her yesterday and she said she would get everything submitted on time.

I'm also still waiting on my third recommender and I know she'll submit it but I just wish she would submit it....soon.

Ha. Apparently I freaked out over nothing and none of my programs actually needed the converted grades I sent. Oh well. Didn't hurt anything.

All right so update. One of the schools I emailed last night just thanked me for providing my converted study abroad grades but I still can't tell if they actually needed them in the first place. ? Here's hoping that I hear back from the others so my anxiety calms down lol.

Lol but now I'm wondering if the grad admissions people will think I'm stupid lol.

It is actually...a lot of times credits from exchange programs don't factor back into your GPA at your home institution and grad schools vary on how much they care about them....I just went ahead and emailed the grad coordinators and attached my converted grades from that semester...hopefully that's good enough and perhaps they didn't need it at all. Better safe than sorry.

The newest thing I'm obsessing about is whether I sent in all the necessary materials with regards to my study abroad transcript...I'm working on an app due December 15th and they're having me run it through a foreign credits calculator to calculate my GPA, which is something I definitely did NOT do for the apps I already submitted, nor do I remember being asked to do it... For some background, my study abroad credits are listed on my undergrad transcript, but they're just in there as transfer credits that are not factored into my GPA. I included a scanned version of my study abroad transcript for all my schools, but I didn't convert it to a 4.0 scale...should I have done that? I don't remember being told to...should I email all the programs and ask? Ugh. I didn't even enjoy my time abroad all that much.

Phew, that makes me feel a lot better.

Yeah... after reading this thread I've been wondering whether I should have retaken the GRE to up my math score, but I stand by my assessment that I probably wouldn't have been able to improve much...if I get shut out this round I will retake for next cycle.

Also people might inflate their stats so they don't feel as self conscious...I promise everything I will post will be 100% accurate lol.

People are getting interview offers already? My apps aren't even complete because my third recommender isn't going to submit until tomorrow.

I've found with my professors, less is more. I remind them about two weeks before, then check in a few days before. It's worked so far.

Ha, no way. They have to go through a department admissions committee first, and then the individual faculty have to look through their pile.

I mean. I'm an applicant myself so I can't speak from life experience, but my dad was a full time engineering PhD student when I was young and he always had time to play with me and my brother and seemed to have a good work/life balance (from what I remember and as I get ready to go through the process myself he hasn't mentioned it being overwhelmingly stressful). I think it has a lot to do with individual variation honestly as well as your mindset going into the program.

I did one simple assignment today and it exhausted me...grad applications and finals season is really getting to me.

I have one last app to submit that has a December 1st deadline and then I have two other apps outside of psychology that are due later.
