Rutgers is around the same time as Penn, so likely next week and the week after you'll hear something. They send out rejections near the end of February. No clue about UCSB, though. Good luck!
-
For those who have been accepted, was there a particular song you played to celebrate? I'm interested in creating a happy playlist. In the same vein, for those who have received rejections, was there a song you immediately started playing/hearing in your head? For me it was Rainbow Connection, mainly to give myself some hope and because you can make it sound really sad in your head lol.
-
According to the Results Search, one person has been accepted, but that seems to be it. That was on Jan 30, so they may have heard from their POI rather than the program itself
-
Hugs to you ♥️ Where all did you apply and what are you hoping to study?
-
Congrats and thanks for the info! I’m still holding out some hope for an email from the DGS, so fingers crossed. Best of luck to you in the Fall!
-
Congratulations to the Vanderbilt admit as well! If you're on here, can you say what subfield and if your portal has changed at all?
-
Honestly that's been my biggest fear, that somehow I missed something big in the application process and it's just too late. I hope that's not the case for either of us ❤️

I guess I'll take that as an implicit rejection, then. I know not everyone who gets accepted will post to GradCafe, but man, only two admits? Can't say it doesn't hurt.
-
I haven’t received one either and I assume it’s a trickle rather than a flood. Fingers crossed for you!
-
Looks like the first Wisconsin acceptances have gone out, congrats to y’all!

Thanks for the heads up!

Looks like you're not alone, the results page is a bloodbath. Hugs to you, you got this.
-
Thanks for the info! I posted that half in jest, mainly because I didn't put all of my eggs into Emory's basket, I probably should have posted, "so you're saying there's still a chance"
-
Thank you to the mystery Emory person! My subfield is not European, so there's still a chance!
-
Would the person who had their application forwarded to Emory’s adcomm be willing to share their subfield? Two spots for one subfield is rough, but I expected as much from Emory.
-
So I guess that means you don't have any material missing...idk that's so weird to me. I hope it all turns out well!
-
Honestly you should reach out to them, that may be an error in the system or that they haven't matched up your materials. They didn't change mine to Ready to Review until they matched up my GRE score to my application.
-
Oh I know, Emory and Michigan use the same system but Emory hasn't shown anything and Michigan has a completely different system for application status. But the UPenn changed from when I submitted it on the 15th and when they got my GRE scores put together with my application on the 23rd. So I just keep checking that Checklist until it tells me something.
-
Oh yes, absolutely. Watching those UPenn interview invitations come through last week and this week and not receiving any word or movement in my portal (still sitting at Ready to Review) was brutal.
-
100%! Every day I get closer to the decision dates (first two weeks of February), the more nervous I become. You're not alone!
-
WELP time to see what happens with this crapshoot (POI never responded to my email)
