  1. Not that I know of, but I'm not sure. Will let you know if I hear.
  2. I received an interview request from Yale (on 1/16, to visit next week) but haven't heard from anywhere else. Someone from my program already interviewed at Penn. (I do Ancient Philosophy and mainly applied to Philosophy programs, except that I applied to the joint Ancient Philosophy programs at Princeton, Yale, Chicago, and Michigan through the Classics department.)
  3. Yeah, I echo what others have said: Leiter is often an awful guy, but PGR is useful, albeit flawed. PGR was especially useful for me as an ancient specialist, and I freely admit that I just went down the list and applied to all the programs rated highly for Ancient in the last PGR.
  4. Thanks, all!
  5. Hi all, do most Philosophy programs interview (in person or online)? I figured not because I haven't really seen any mention of it, but I just found out that many Classics programs do, so now I'm not sure.
  6. I think Central European University has a funded MA program that's quite well respected in US/UK.
  7. My SOPs were a little under 800 words when not given a limit (2.25-2.5 double-spaced pages). I described my two biggest research interests in detail, along with two of my other foci in undergrad (highlighting my accomplishments when appropriate but not focusing too much on them), included something about languages (very relevant for Ancient), and then had the paragraph tailored to the individual institution. When I had to make it shorter, I made discussion of my research interests somewhat less detailed, didn't talk about languages, and sometimes cut the bits about other foci.
  8. I wrote a general statement and changed the last paragraph for each program, mentioning a couple professors who seem interesting and other special opportunities at the school.
  9. Just finished submitting my applications today! Also nervous and would love to fast forward...
