    I only saw one person I think, but I don't think they sent all the offers. I am tirelessly waiting to hear back from BC. The last time I spoke to them they told me that they are still reviewing apps for the sociology btw

    I think it generally refers to the US and USNews is the one which is generally used but I also like using THE. I have some problems with the methodology of USNews and QS

    Professors at BC are really nice, and they generally answer your e-mails about the program and their research. I spoke to them before the application deadlines, and they were really nice. I also do not know which IR topics that you are interested in but I can say that Boston University has great people who work on IR.

    Thank you for the information. I heard that they are very theory focused and one of the top schools for political theory. I am strictly IR, and as a secondary field, I am interested in methods and comparative politics.

    I feel you. My friend and I are in exactly the same situation. I e-mailed last week, and they told me the results would be out soon. However, it has been a total week, and there is nothing. I am 99% sure that I will get rejected. I just want my closure.

    I was not invited to or interviewed, too. But I e-mailed the school, and they told me to wait until Mid- to Late- February for finalized decisions. So, don't lose your hope. Which area do you want to work on?

    I saw some international students who came to visit, but the admission decisions were not finalized yet. It will be finalized until Mid- to Late- February. For the internationals who could not come, they held Skype interviews.

    Thank you for your kind words I think this application process thought to me that I love political science slightly more than sociology. Also, sociology programs are super super slow to answer applicants. I only heard back from one sociology program, but I heard back from 4-5 political science programs. You are very right about the geographical constraint. My only regret is that I wanted to apply Georgetown (a bit of a stretch but I may have worked it out with my husband) a lot but the application fee to two different programs was so expensive, and I did not apply. Except for that, I do not have any big regrets. If I need to apply again (which currently I do not think so, I think BU is the best fit that can ever happen to me), I may try to work on my GRE and SOP a bit more.

    Did anyone hear back from Fletcher Tufts Ph.D. in International Relations? I saw one rejection in the results page, but I did not get anything from Tufts.

    Thank you so much, but I really take these rejections personally. I know there is nothing like "safety" in Ph.D. applications as getting into any Ph.D. program is very competitive and connected to many variables such as fit, scores, interview, and personality. However, for many programs I got rejected, I thought I really have a shot, and that frustrates me so much. I guess I am not made for a Ph.D.

    I saw that you applied Northeastern. Were you at Northeastern this week? They had a preadmission event.

    Nope. I got in Boston University for political science but I did not hear back from their sociology program. I think they still have some time for sociology results because sociology deadline was way later than political science deadline

    The Brown was a total *** for the political science applications. They admitted people but not rejected or waitlisted others and left us in the limbo. I wish they released the results at the same day. I can accept rejection. I just want an answer.

    I hope Harvard releases the admits pretty fast. I applied for gender/political sociology subfields. I did not hear positively from any of my sociology schools. I am getting in depression

    Nope, still no change in my situation. I am not a theory person tho, I applied for IR
