    I saw some BC Sociology acceptances. Does anyone claim it? I was surely expecting to get in but did not hear back.

    I wait for BU for sociology, as well. Also the others like Harvard etc.

    I have the same question as well. It is very unlikely people hear from Harvard before Feb 15 sometimes before Feb 22. You need to be an absolute star to hear back early. Harvard IR is the only one I am waiting right now.

    I saw some UMass Amherst rejections but I am not able to get into the portal. It shows nothing because the portal does not work. I am not sure what to make out of this

    Last year, they released results way later than this. I also expect a waitlist or acceptance because when I submitted the application, it says that it takes 6 to 10 weeks to get back the applicants. It has only been 3/4 weeks from the application deadline, so that is what makes me optimistic about it. Many people get their rejection at least a week after the official acceptance.

    I got it for both programs that I applied for. The weird thing is political science sent some acceptances last week, but a friend of mine and I did not receive any answer from UMass. I learned that apparently, they made offers to the "stars" or the people who are the best fit first. Then, they will be doing offers to people who are in the middle (at least for political science). For sociology, I have not seen anyone who got accepted, yet. So, I am not sure. For political science, the "stars" accepted into the program got very personalized e-mails from the chair of the sub-field. For sociology, I was expecting something in that line, but really, I did not see anyone who got accepted. I am still optimistic tho, I wait for at least a waitlist.

    I got an e-mail from UMass Amherst which said that my application status changed. I got the e-mail right now (0.41 according to EST). The change is from under review to update pending yet there is no decision on the application website. They are just mocking with me I guess

    Brown drives me crazy. They are so taciturn that they did not say anything

    Rejected by MIT. It was my dream school. It hurts

    I still did not get my closure from Brown and UMass Amherst. It feels very uneasy.

    Congratulations. I did not receive any e-mail but I was kinda sure that I will get in. I guess I did not. What was your subfield? I applied for IR Edit: Amherst is a great place.

    I saw that someone got accepted to UMass Amherst. Can anyone confirm it?

    I did not get any admit or reject or waitlist. My top choice is Harvard, Brown and UMass Amherst. They both have good programs and several people who work on political sociology, gender, and politics in general.

    I have a feeling that we will get important results today...

    I am definitely waiting for an answer from Brown soon because it is driving me crazy. All of the other programs that Brown offers, people got their rejections and acceptances at fairly similar times, or they at most have one week between them. They also learned their results via e-mail or by checking the website. I did not hear anything about my application (me and my other friends included), and I rule out being on the waitlist because there are so many people who did not hear back from Brown for political science, yet. I wish Harvard and MIT release results early this year so I can have closure.

    I have 3 semester of Calculus, 2 semester of statistics (undergrad and grad) yet only got into 1 program until now. I know that Harvard has some requirements for math and probably MIT. Except that, I do not know any schools which specifically looks for math background. However, I did not apply any UCs so I do not have an idea on that.

    Northeastern invited people to open house, at least the people who made the short list. I was not invited to open house, so I inquired about it. The lady who answered my e-mail said that until mid-February we would hear back.

    MIT does not interview. They generally release results on Feb 13/14

    I got an answer to my e-mail from Brown. They only told me that decisions will be out soon. That is the shortness of the e-mail.

    I crazily wait for an answer from Brown with a friend of mine. I saw several people who got admitted to the IR and Political Theory tracks in Brown. They each admitted four people so a total of 8. I e-mailed to the department today to hear from them, but they did not answer yet. I hope I get an answer tomorrow and update here. As information, I and my friend both applied for the IR track. I am an international student with a master from the USA, and my friend is American.

    I still did not hear back any of the programs that I Have applied for sociology. Is it normal?

    Don't be discouraged. I only heard back from one school yet and I have a total of 15 pending applications. I did not hear back from any of the others yet.
