  1. Harvard did not release results yet and it will not be releasing the results until mid or late February. Brown released some results, at least for theory track, but other tracks did not release anything yet. I did not see any Cornell and Yale acceptance or rejection yet so they still have time.
  2. I and another friend applied for the IR track, and I saw a person who got admitted to the IR track, as well so I am super anxious. I liked Brown a lot so I want to get in
  3. The uncertainty from Brown University will kill me because of anxiety.. rrrrrr
  4. Does anyone claim Brown University acceptance into IR track? It says that they got accepted over e-mail. I checked the application page and it only says submitted. Is it safe to assume rejection?
  5. Oh, okay. Thank you. I had a small heart attack. Congratulations, Brown is a great school for theory!
  6. Where did you see the Brown result? I applied to IR track of Brown and did not hear anything back
  7. I applied a total of 10 schools, 17 programs (sociology and political science). I only have one acceptance and one interview. It is normal. I am waiting for MIT, as well and they will release results on February 13 and/or 14.
  8. Yes, thank you. I am ecstatic. It was really my top choice and the best ever fit possible. I am very happy.
  9. I got an e-mail from the graduate program director. My subfield is IR.
  10. None of my schools still released results. If I ever apply Ph.D. again (I hope not, I want to get in a department this time as this is my second time), I will apply only West Coast schools. They review everything faster and give results.
  11. Some schools cover hotel and flight, but I have never heard a school which covers pocket money, etc. for the open house/visit day. However, most of the schools have limits on that. For instance, an R1/private university that I know covers $500 for flight and gives you a double room with another candidate in a hotel close to the school. However, some state schools have problems with funding so they may not cover it.
  12. do you mean the flights and hotel? or do you mean if a school gives you extra money to cover daily expenses that day?
  13. Are there any other people who got invited to Northeastern University's open house? I saw someone in the admission results page.
  14. I just expect Boston University and Boston College now. I love both of them a lot, and according to last year, they released the results in the last week. I wish though I had applied for more programs in T10-T20 such as Princeton.
  15. I still did not get any acceptances or invites to interviews. Is there anyone here who got invited to Northeastern University's pre-admission event for sociology? Thank you.
  16. Did anyone hear from Boston College? Last year, according to my data, they sent acceptances on January 25 and rejections on January 22 and March 5 (waitlist rejection I suppose)?
  17. There are many PSR people who do not have anything to do and just troll people. I am not sure if you ever read PSR but they really speak about trolling thegradcafe sometimes.
  18. It is probably spam because every year on January 24 or January 25 a person writes the same thing as I got a call from POI at Harvard and got accepted.
  19. They reimburse plane tickets, staying in a hotel, and there will be some free food in all of the pre-admission events. I only got an invitation from Northeastern so I do not know for the other schools, but I heard that most state schools have problems with funding people to come over as it is expensive and they do not have so much budget.
  20. I got an invitation to pre-admission event/interview session of Northeastern University.
