  1. Does anyone have information about this program? The website does not very informative, but it looks like an interesting program. How is it regarded? Is it difficult to get in? Do they accept students with public health backgrounds? I have heard good things about UCSF in general, including the Anthropology program. I am looking at other health behavior PhD programs (Emory, UNC, Hopkins) too. Are people able to get jobs in public health with this type of degree? Thanx for your help!
  2. has anyone heard from Hopkins International Health Social & Behavioral Interventions for PhD programs? I saw that someone head from their POI in early February on the results, but I don't know if they have sent out info to all admits.
  3. Have any SSA/South Africa alternates heard anything? I figure we might as well help each other out. Of course, if Jermaine is out of the office, I suppose we wouldn't hear anything this week. Has anyone gotten any information from their FPA? Good luck!
  4. Has anyone heard how many alternates there are for South Africa? It looks like there weren't any rejections for SSA, which makes me think we're all alternates. Also, my FPA told me that leaving the country generally isn't a problem, although some countries are more of a stickler for the 21 day rule than others. Apparently it depends on the in country Fulbright person.
  5. I think alternates are dealt with at a regional level, except for South Africa. I called Jermaine this morning to ask about where I was on the list, and then I stupidly forgot to ask about the AL-1. Since I already called and gave him my full name, does anyone else want to call and ask about the AL-1? Or has anyone gotten an alternate letter that does not have that on there? Unfortunately, he told me that it's Fulbright's policy not to tell anyone where they fall on the rank list. He wouldn't even give me any hints, just said that if we haven't heard from them by mid/late June, it's very unlikely that we'll get a grant.
  6. I got the dreaded Alternate status for a research grant to Sub-Saharan Africa. For the other alternates out there - there is a small "AL-1"in the bottom left of my letter. Does this mean that I am ranked as the first alternate? Does every letter have this number on it? I'd love to hear back from those that got bumped up to principal status already.
