Undergrad at Pitt and totally agree! I love that there's no in house clinic so you immediately get external placements (therefore, you get more varied clinic experiences than at other schools), but the curriculum doesn't allow much flexibility, and there are essentially no electives. To me, it is important to take specific courses I'm interested in, like pediatric dysphagia, so I likely will not be continuing my graduate education at Pitt. This is definitely not make or break though, it just depends on how customizable you want your curriculum to be!

MGH just called me today (Saturday)! Wasn't expecting a call on the weekend, but so grateful! Also was offered scholarship over the phone. She mentioned she is calling over the next few days!

Online Neuro Of Communication Course

The school I'm looking at is University of Cincinnati, but I know many of my older classmates have had to take a neuro course over the summer for various schools! -
Someone in my info session asked and they said they had skype interviews next week so most likely the week after!

One of the programs I was accepted to requires a neuro of communication prereq course, which I don't have. They offer an online summer course to fulfill the prereq, but I'm interested in seeing if any other universities offer a more condensed version of the course. Has anyone taken neurology of communication online?

Just got in!!!! They had information that I was nominated for a fellowship program/scholarship but other than that no info about funding directly from the department, so they may not have sent it out yet!

I'm also interviewing on 2/23! I have no idea how to prepare, especially since there's no precedent for this! I think I'm going to read up on the current research of a lab I'm interested in, since I've made my interest in the lab clear both in interactions with the professor and in my personal statement.

Congrats! I'm going to Boston because I am also applying to MGH and was most likely going to visit anyways, but I don't think a skype would hurt your chances!

Yeah I was super confused too.. especially since last year people found out feb 16th and the interview weekend is past that. Also they told me they'd send out a decision 6-8 weeks after receiving my application which is before my interview date as well. Glad to hear someone else got the email though, congrats!

Hi everyone! I just got an email inviting me to interview at Northeastern University, which I am super excited about but I am a little confused because I did not realize they interview! I couldn't find any information on the website about an interview, and I chatted with professors/students at their ASHA table and an interview was never mentioned. Does anyone know any information regarding the interview/am I missing something?
