  1. As a student here I can say the same as many others. This school is less than professional. They use intimidation practices and yell at their students or put them down if they do not like their style of writing etc. Every semester they have students dropping out not because the work is hard but because of how they treat people. Those are my experiences, and I have many more from my cohort to add. Its sad but if you can keep ypur head down and take the emotional abuse then .... good luck.
  2. Hey ya'll, Just wanted to give you all a heads up on the University of St. Augustine. This is an online program that is currently in candidacy for accreditation. First and foremost, I would like to highlight that you should always do your research on schools and ask questions about their philosophy on teaching before you apply. St. Augustine offers a 20 month curriculum with all online classes and 4 in person clinical immersions (where you fly into campus) and 1 where you return to graduate, for a total of 5 times you will visit the campus (Dallas or Austin). Here is the scope: St. Augustine is a self-taught program meaning you will be assigned to read book chapters, articles and will be given a few slides for each weeks module. There are no pre-recorded lectures, study guides or student-teacher interactions (other than the in person clinicals). With that in mind, you must be really disciplined and committed 200% into school work. Before applying make sure this learning style is adequate for yourself. As for grading, doing the work assignments will earn you a B, you must go above and beyond to earn a 100% (we are still trying to figure out what this means exactly). There are no examples on how you should turn in work and no examples will be given. If this is your learning style wonderful! Before applying keep this in mind.

  4. Hey Everyone, I got an interview for USA Austin and 2 weeks later an acceptance letter. My interview was through skype. I am still trying to decide what graduate school to attend since I was accepted to multiple, I am just waiting for scholarships and financial aid packages to post before making my final decision. Anyways, just wanted to let everyone know that USA is pretty awesome. My undergrad stats are: Overall GPA 3.5...CDS 3.89 ...GRE 289, I think my personal statement, rec. letters and affiliations/volunteer hours helped me get accepted everywhere I applied to.
  5. Austin is in Candidacy and Dallas is still applying for Candidacy. Therefore I would strongly suggest applying to the Austin program. They will not place you in the other program if one gets full, you can only apply to one location.
  6. Yes, I did a month or so ago and I got a letter of acceptance two weeks later. Not sure if I will be accepting however. That interview was for the Austin campus. Would you like to know anything else? ?
  7. Hi! I think you are a great candidate and you seem to have so much experience. In my opinion what I put emphasis on (which our professors told us mattered most) was observations and community service. I got accepted to all schools I applied to and cum gpa was 3.3.... csd 3.8...gre 289.... You can do it too!! Best of luck!
