Will you go to York then? Hahaha

I'm not quite sure between York and Ryerson but Yorks funding is way too hard to turn down. I got some thinking to do but it seems like a no-brainer to me as of now.

Based on last year, I think applicants heard back from York around March 23rd. I am not sure if York would give you your acceptance earlier on the phone if you did call - since they inform students on specific dates in waves. However, York would be able to tell you on the phone when they would start calling applicants about their acceptances since this did happen last year too.

What I would reccomend is asking if Ryerson would be able to extend the deadline for when you can accept - since you can explain the situation about you are hearing back from other universities. I am not sure if you have done this already. If they won't give you an extension, I would reccomend putting down the deposit just to secure your place in case until you hear back from York. It does suck that we have to do this (since I did this with another school), but it is better to be safe than sorry. I also know not everyone has the financial means to put down a security deposit, so I would just talk to Ryerson to see what they have to say.

    Hope that is helpful! :)

Thank you so much! This is a helpful response -- will definitely call work today and let the forum know if they give me any information.

  3. So we have not heard from York yet and my deadline to accept Ryerson is this Saturday. Do you guys think it might be worthwhile calling York and just asking them about my application status? I'm primarily concerned about funding as that will be a huge deciding factor for me. Does anyone know if they will give me this information? The wait is killer!

Was anyone waitlisted for Ryerson? I haven't heard from them yet and I'm not sure if there is a waitlist happening at this point

Hi! I got a call last Wednesday and my deadline for acceptance is the 16th.

Just to clarify for Ryerson and York's acceptances people will be getting a phonecall? I hope they leave voicemail cause I work almost everyday this week?

From what I've read/heard, both schools called their applicants last year. However,  I remember Ryerson saying they also e-mail. Not too sure about York although I think they will update myfile upon acceptance.

Just noticed on my quest account for Waterloo/Rennison MSW program. That I am under consideration. Just wondering if this is good or bad

Mine says this for York as well and it means they havent made a decision yet. Not sure if that also applies to you.

Hi! From a quick website search this is what I was able to find.
Ryerons: We will start to notify first consideration applicants of admissions decisions in mid-March, and will continue to notify all applicants of an admissions decision on a rolling basis until all available spots have been filled.

    York: Nothing sorry =/

Hope that helps even just a little!

I actually just looked at the forum from last year and it looks like both universities called their applicants and acceptances went out around first/second week of March. Thank you so much for your response!

  8. Hey - new to this thread but have been looking at it for quite some time now. Also a very nervous MSW applicant. Does anyone know when/how ryerson and york start accepting students? The wait is killer!

Good luck everyone :) Hoping for the best for all of you!!
