  1. Question. I have a conditional acceptance at UofA pending completion of my stats prereq; does anyone know if I have to actually do well in this course or can I just pass it? LOL
  2. OH congrats!! Yes that just means you were put on the waitlist. You can contact Janet to ask her where you are roughly on the list (which quadrant you're in)!
  3. Best of luck to you!! Let me know what happens!
  4. No problem! Did you only apply to aud at Western or did you apply elsewhere as well? Thank you! I did my undergrad at Western but took a BUNCH of courses after graduating from both Western and UofT to improve my GPA ?
  5. Hi! Oh my god, haven't visited this forum thread in ages. I've actually moved on to applying to speech-language pathology ? But admissions decisions for audiology at Western come out right at midnight if you've activated your student ID at student.uwo.ca! (accepted, rejected, waitlisted) I've only ever been waitlisted or rejected, so nothing appeared on ORPAS for me right at midnight, but I did get the decision at midnight logging into student.uwo.ca and an email during the day on the 1st. Maybe if you get accepted it appears on ORPAS at midnight? I'm not too sure. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions ?
  6. If you've activated your Student ID at Western, you could see your admissions decision right at midnight (accepted, rejected, waitlisted) through student.uwo.ca I've only ever been rejected or waitlisted, so I got the actual email for both UofT and Western during the day on April 1. My ORPAS also stayed blank (under choices/offers). Maybe acceptances appear on ORPAS right at midnight? I'm not sure.
  7. I received my acceptance from UofA today too ? 2pm in Ontario, I guess Vicki is working overtime?! ? Also third time's the charm holy... honestly for those who are applying for their second or third time, try applying to more schools across Canada and the US!!
  8. Aw absolutely! Going through these forums for the past 3 years always made me feel so discouraged (combination of low self-worth + reading all these posts from such phenomenal applicants!). I'm glad that sharing my experience helped ? Also I want to add that I am in no way exceptional (mediocre subGPA and terrible cGPA) so I also just wanted to post to give hope to those who feel like they are also "not good enough". There are so many options if you are truly passionate about this field, and remember, everyone's journey is different!!
  9. I applied to Adelphi University, Syracuse University (accepted), Truman State University (accepted), Radford University (rejected), Pennsylvania State University (rejected), Nazareth College, Old Dominion University (rejected), and Grand Valley State University! Only because their deadlines were in February. The States have over 100 programs I bet
  10. ONE DISCLAIMER... most universities in the US require that you have an undergrad degree in communication sciences and disorders, or have completed courses that satisfy their prereqs (which is a heinous amount.. and half the courses I didn't know even existed). So I only applied to universities that had a leveling track or that they straight up didn't care what bachelors degree you had. This took a LOT of research and although I have a list I don't think it's comprehensive.
  11. For Western, if you have a login with the student center, the decision (acceptance, rejection, waitlist) appears right on the front page. Source: this is my third time applying and I'm tired of seeing the yellow triangle indicating waitlisted ? I've also wanted to put my input on this feed for a while... I guess now's the time since anxiety is running high with 1 week until decisions are out? so this is my third time applying to Canadian SLP programs, and it has not been an easy 3 years. From volunteering in SLP and audiology clinics full time, taking a bunch of non-degree courses to increase my GPA, working full time at an SLP clinic as a client care coordinator and STILL receiving waitlisted/rejection... this process was grueling and took a huge toll on my mental health. I feel all your posts and empathize with the anxiety from the bottom of my heart. I decided to apply this year to US universities, and man, that experience was incredible. First, it's super easy to apply as they have a centralized app portal for the majority of SLP programs in the states. I got follow-ups from program coordinators personally asking for more information on my experiences, TWO acceptances so far, and just an all around feeling like they value each and every applicant. I wanted to share this experience with you to let you know that each and every one of you are working your ASSES off and in the hopefully unlikely event that you don't receive good news this years, DON'T YOU DARE GIVE UP. There ARE options and you ARE worth it. Also I would be more than happy to share my stats, info I've gathered from US unis, and just if you want to DM me to rant I'm more than available.
  12. Hi Western waitlist gang, a little update. I called Janet to ask how many students have accepted their offer so far and she said all the spots were filled (many that were offered admission accepted their offer and a few on the wait list were offered admission and they accepted too). Do you guys know if they actually don’t tell you your place on the wait list, like how they said in the email? I’m so tempted to ask but it was written in bold...
  13. Wait-listed at Western... So nerve-wracking
  14. Congrats to everyone who got their acceptances!! Western's offer could be coming out tonight (I read from previous forums that ORPAS releases offers at 12am).
  15. I have a subGPA of 3.37... not great but I'm taking courses as a non-degree student this year to upgrade my GPA for next year if I don't get in. I also have 100ish volunteering at an audiology clinic, and I volunteered at a hospital, speech therapy clinic, Montessori school, and research lab. Would you mind sharing your stats from last year that got you waitlisted at Western? Thanks!
  16. Hi hopefuls! I'm glad to have found this forum, thanks @Audiology2019 for creating this thread. It's nice to share our experiences and support each other during this stressful time. I also applied to just UBC and Western. I have just the neuroanatomy prerequisite to complete for UBC, which I was hoping to take this summer but the course filled up before my registration time. I'm feeling pretty disheartened, but hoping to find an alternative course that I can complete by September. @FutureAudiologist I wish you the best of luck with Dal!! Let us know what the decision is @MBLBPB congrats on getting accepted to American Universities! I wish I applied, but there's always next year...
