Is anyone familiar with PSU's graduate housing? They have tons of options and I'm not sure about the quality. Is it worth the cost (Studios from 775 - 1175, 1-bedroom 900 - 1470) or should I look into off campus housing? https://www.pdx.edu/housing/graduate-student-housing

Just got accepted to WashU's MSW program. I know it's an amazing school and program but I'm worried about my ability to live in St. Louis. I cannot drive due to how highly epileptic I am so I've always lived places with well developed metro systems/public transits. Does anyone have any experience going to WashU without a car? (or any experience with public transportation in St.L. ). Would I be able to live a decent life or would I be too handicapped? I'm okay with Ubering but I would prefer it not to be a daily thing.

Hello, I've so far been accepted to four programs for getting my Masters in Social Work. I honestly didn't think I would get accepted to one, and now I suddenly have options. I don't know what to do as I'm still uncertain if relocation makes the most sense to get my master's degree. For some context, I've lived in Washington, DC for the last six years. Two of the school (still waiting from Maryland) are local. These schools are Howard and Catholic University, which are reasonably priced but don't have the most exciting programs. I also have my reservations about Catholic as a religious school since I identify as queer. The other two schools are Washington University in St. Louis and Portland State. WashU is second-ranked in the country and has an incredible program with great concentration options. I should mention that WashU has offered me a 30K scholarship, making it the cheapest by at least ten thousand. That said, I cannot drive, so I'm worried that my life would be too limited, relying on public transportation. I feel in love with PSU's program and the city of Portland when I visited last year. With all that in mind, I have a good, stable situation in DC with cheap rent and (relatively) low cost of living. I also have full medical coverage here and long-established support that might not be available in other states. I've been told that where you went for your MSW matters less in the professional world and price should be a more critical factor. Does it make sense to relocate for a two-year program, or should I remain in DC and accept an offer from a program that is just decent? Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks in advance. I've known some great social workers that got their degree online but they always had acquired the social skills needed outside of their program. I think there's so much you learn from the interactions of in-persons that goes way beyond the coarse material. I agree that it's a trending cash cow but it also can be a financial risk for universities (I.e. USC). I'm more worried that it'll effect the credibility of some great programs. That said It seems like its hear to stay

I just got accepted to WashU!! Does anyone know how difficult this program is to get into? I'm still in disbelief that they accepted me lol

Congrats! I was told when I visited campus that they have on-campus housing for grad students. Just in case you didnt know that was an option

Heads up to anyone that also applied UMB-SSW. I just got an email saying they're allowing their admissions committee to adjust to working at home and will start reviewing apps in order of when they were submitted starting next week.

Two year applicant for Fall 2020. Waiting to hear from them. Does anyone know how big their cohorts usually are? I'm nervous and went this whole time not realizing it was such a competitive program. I visited their program and its probably my first choice.

hey guys, im currently applying to programs for next fall. I would like one of my schools to be in LA and I've already ruled out USC after seeing their tuition and the drama that's been going on in their department. Im a senior undergrad without any experience and I barely make their GPA requirement (not to mention they have more requirements than other schools and require two essays). Should I bother? Thanks!

Hey everyone, is there any George Washington grads here? I have long planned to apply there for my MSW program but to my surprise, I can't find that any such program exists. I'm confused because I used to work at a behavioral health clinic and there were always interns doing their hours. Does GW have an equivalent/different program?
