I got my undergrad at Columbia but had a lot of contact with MFAs. One painting MFA told me he had a full ride but also people will just BS about this. My understanding (purely from chatting with MFAs) is that printmaking gives more than 50% but the other disciplines don't give much more than 50%. 

Just had my Hunter interview, but it was a cut a bit short (they are really scrambling to get to all of the other applicants who haven't gotten a call). The interview started a bit late and was 15 minutes instead of 30. I think most of the missed calls above may be because they are just really behind with everything that is happening. Hoping for the best!

Hunter just cancelled in-person interviews. Just in case anyone doesn't get the email. And also for those who are already elected to do skype ...we are all in the same boat now (which I think is more fair)

Just got an interview request from Hunter for painting!

I got an email that my application had been updated and then I checked the portal. The office is very friendly (which you may already know) so you can always call them to double check. But congrats on your acceptance and good luck with your others. I am also still waiting on UCLA

For anyone who is still just waiting to hear back from schools, I just got an interview request from Tyler.  They sent out the first round of interview requests mid January, so there is hope. 

I didn't volunteer this information earlier because I haven't seen people applying to these schools on this thread, but I've interviewed with UTK and U of Minnesota in the past couple of days. I was surprised about the Minnesota interview cuz I thought they typically don't interview at all.

Got a phone call this morning from the Performance dept. at SAIC inviting me for an interview!

I've heard from faculty at my school that Yale's pedagogical model tends to be very top down. Especially in the photography department the reputation is that they prefer to destroy their students and then build them back up. Someone who was accepted into the photo department at Yale started working in drawings and they asked them to leave. I have heard that Yale painting has started to be better ...for example, they just hired Meleko Mokgosi who doesn't really work in a top-down pedagogical model (or so I've heard). The rumor is that many yale students graduate and it takes years for them to make work again after being so demoralized.

I think this has been discussed in previous years but the general ...rumor... with Yale and Bard, is that they will not accept someone straight out of undergrad except for in exceptional circumstances. Basically, it is super rare. The average age at Bard is 27. I'm not sure what the average age is at Yale but I've never heard of someone going straight through to Yale. You should ask around of course as this is just what I have heard. I do think I remember looking at Yale Painting student's C.V.s and seeing a couple who went straight through. 
Of course, if you took time off before undergrad, working etc. then this is a different situation but you need to make that clear in your personal statement. 
I was an undergrad at Columbia and I would not recommend Columbia MFA. The grad students seem pretty unhappy and everyone is competing and obsessed with the industry. I've also found the big shots in the departments to favor men. I've been friends with a lot of Columbia MFAs over the years and they complain about the program all the time. Also, the program is super expensive. Just my opinion.
