  1. I joined late post result declaration.. BTW I rejected free-ride offers from Coumbia and UMichigan in favor of MPA/ID from HKS. I do not know if I did correct or will I regret it like forever.. 0$ liability vs. about 80-90k$ liability now sounds like a big burden given the job market in 2022..
  2. Hello everyone! Could someone advise if taking loan of about 70-80 k for HKS MPA/ID program is worthy enough? Can we repay it back? I also have full-ride at SIPA but I am more hinged to MPA/ID because of its unique structure and focused approach.
  3. I am confused between SIPA and MPA/ID. I really like the MPA/ID program at HKS but with only Fulbright funding, I will still be short of huge sum. SIPA on the other hand has made it almost free. So, if I consider fee, then I should go to SIPA but if I think of program structure, then hands down MPA/ID. Small cohort size, focused curriculum, and of-course the brand value of Harvard are definitely worth taking a shot. SIPA course is kind of loose, big cohort, etc. McKinsey has already offered a webinar for newly admitted MPA/ID students at HKS. Plus, HKS staff, faculty, students have all been very responsive during these days. I just wish I had my finances settled for HKS!!
  4. No funding from HKS MPA/ID. I also gathered from other Fulbrighters across different programs (MPP, MPA) that it is same with them as well. ?
  5. I was particularly touched by gesture of MPA/ID Director Carol who took the pain writing to me at the time of release of result that- "As a Fulbright recipient, this message probably went to IIE on your behalf, so I wanted to alert you to the good news directly. Congratulations and best wishes!". So, technically, I did not need to wait for an email from local Fulbright office about my result; Carol informed me that I had made it!!
  6. Sorry fellas for the delayed response. I am thrilled to have been admitted into MPA/ID. I got this news from local Fulbright office about 24 hours ago.. FinAid details still awaited and could be available earliest by Monday only.
  7. This year they might be releasing Admit plus FinAid together so the delay..
  8. Well done!! Empirical analysis always holds ground.. This year, however, HKS has delayed its decision by most no of days as compared to other schools. So it will be interesting to see if even now it could still maintain at least the DAY and TIME..
  9. Although I won’t be knowing my result today but I am still there with all of you my friends!! Right from early posts on this thread, I always tried to provide one input or another.. Today, when we have inched this much closer, it looks a fantastic journey of anxious waiting together. I am wishing you all the very best and may we continue our friendship at HKS and beyond!
  10. Normally, our result and FinAid info come together. So, if FinAid is released with Admission decision then earliest by tomorrow by noon, we should come to know. If it is released separately and on another day, then I am not sure if Fulbright will wait for both the decisions or will let us know the admission decision at least.
  11. Oggy and Peppa Pig!! ?? Don’t know if I will be in condition to spend time with him after sometime.. ??
  12. Watching cartoon show with my son!! ??
  13. I am all here.. refreshing it every nanosecond while a classic movie is on.. ????
  14. Guys any suggestion for a movie which let the next few hours pass by somehow!!
  15. I so dearly wish that I also had my login credentials to see if something is happening or not!!
  16. Change in FinAid portal implies something on your page is being uploaded and irrespective of FinAid decision, it certainly implies selection!!
  17. I can be completely wrong but this is a good sign!!
  18. Is it going to be today- Thursday? It should, so that Fulbrighters also get to know tomorrow. Otherwise, if result gets declared on Friday then we could know it only on Monday at the earliest. And you can’t imagine how the intervening weekends will be like!!
  19. Can't say. I am more like 'Thursday' guy ? But I agree with you that whatever had to be done by HKS has already been done and there is no point in keep applicants waiting for results anymore, unless of course, some administrative work is still left!!
  20. Its 7:40 AM Cambridge time right now!! Keep your discussions on guys, we need to wait for next hour or so to know if there is going to be another blog-post or not..
  21. It's not off-topic and so don't be sorry!! Let's face it- at this stage of our lives and career, if we have applied to HKS (and other equally reputed schools) for a course in public policy then it definitely shows our empathy and sensitivity to our societal superstructure. The prevalent rigid issues of our respective countries/communities/societies have motivated us to look for out-of-box and unconventional solutions and that in turn has encouraged us to apply for best institutes with world-class peer group and faculty. For someone, the poor quality of education in the society could be a concern while for others it could be gender discrimination, inequality, poverty, corruption and/or violence. All of us here are looking for solutions and for ways to collaborate with each other to solve the larger issues of society. I firmly believe that in addition to the brand value of HKS, we all acknowledge that the possibility of getting our solutions at HKS is much higher and so we are eager and anxious to get enrolled there. Therefore, occasionally, if not all the time, we should also discuss contemporary issues like CORONA because it impacts us in many ways than we can think of- including our chances of admit (as one of our fellow members pointed out that HKS might be re-assessing rate of acceptance/deferment by candidates) and to be on-campus this fall, if selected.
  22. So are we looking at March 19, 2020 (Thursday yet again)?
  23. No. It came on its own with the offer.
