Thank you, I tried adding a reaction heart but I ran out. It’s Saint Joseph’s College in NY - Brooklyn. It’s a bit of a mouthful, so I condensed. It’s also called the Writer’s Foundry.

LOR. I read this as Lord of the Rings and was confused why you needed a copy of it to be sent to Florida. If it helps, two of my schools (UNO and Rutgers Newark) didn’t get a third LOR from a teacher that went missing on me.

You two may have similar experiences, but you lead two different lives, filled with your own specific traumas and glories and things you hold dear. Don’t worry, I’m sure you two are very different.

I suppose the vast majority of us are so bored/anxious that we keep focusing on admissions and numbers. I’ll pose a question to distract us: How many of y’all are actively writing like nothing’s happening? My answer is: I’m not writing like I usually do. It happened last year too. After all my decisions are in, then I’ll go into a writing frenzy with all the ideas I’m collecting currently. I’m considering fleshing out a short story idea I’ve kept for a year.

SJCNY is reviewing applications right now according to the graduate admissions director.

Guys, my soul left my body for a second. I got a big letter from SJCNY and thought: this is it. It came with a pamphlet, and I could see through the envelope that the writing program header was there. ... It’s a letter thanking me for my interest in their program. The pamphlet told me more about their program, but I honestly thought it was an acceptance and got way too excited. T_T

I applied to VT for poetry, hopefully I get in.

WashU is sure taking their sweet time to reject everybody. DO IT, YOU WON’T

Hi, so Maryland apparently got a record breaking number of applications this year so they’re going to be notifying second week of March.

Eh, don’t worry about it. I feel like I look stupid too, just letting it go on while the moderator shakes their head at us.

I was just letting it slide because they weren’t posting much. I was curious when they would start being an ass to either of us. The target was me haha.

I’ve made a new ranked list of remaining schools (with consideration to my specific needs and wants): U Maryland U Florida Michener V Tech U New Hampshire SJCNY ___ Let’s be honest, I’m getting rejected from: UNO (one recommendation short), Rutgers- Newark (ditto UNO), and WashU

I reached out a day ago and the same contact said they should be reaching out by the end of the month.

It’s good to know it’s not just me.

Thank goodness that Virginia Tech took pity on me. I accidentally uploaded my writing sample twice instead of once with a personal statement as well. I hope they like me enough to disregard that.

Wait, I emailed Michener and they said end of February early March. Not quite there yet. Hold your horses for Michener at least.

I love how this is what we’re doing with our Valentine’s Day. Being worried writing nerds on the internet.

I did mention at least three people I love, plus one faculty member that’s my favorite/I want to work with from each college.

Received a piece of mail from SJCNY and got really confused and hopeful about an acceptance, but no. It was just to let me know that as of the 8th, they hadn’t received some things. I just submitted on the 6th.

I would like to be an advocate for @mrvisser. Everyone can be exposed to everything you listed above, but not everyone absorbs or uses it to further themselves or their writing. I was like that for awhile in my Billy Collins bubble. This past year I realized that I could combine my passions, experiences, and random thoughts into poetry and it blew my mind haha.
