  1. Sounds like you're between Harvard and Stanford, from what you've written! Both are fantastic schools, and it seems like it's down to, East Coast/West Coast, being close to your partner or not, and how invested the program is in social justice/diversity. I've lived in the Austin area my whole life, and can confirm-- you will not have a great time of things if you don't have a car, or can't afford to Uber everywhere. Very fun and exciting city, but we're fairly spread out and the bus system (while improving) isn't where it needs to be. Caveat being, if you live in West Campus/Hyde Park, there's a few very centralized bus lines that will get you to campus and back, but actually exploring the city isn't as feasible.
  2. Hi all! Currently panicking about where to go for my Master's in Art Education. I got in to a surprising number of schools (Harvard, NYU, Cambridge, King's College London, Art Institute of Chicago, University of Illinois, OSU) and I think I've narrowed it down to Harvard/NYU/Cambridge. Mediocre funding for Harvard and NYU, no word back on financial aid from Cambridge yet. To me, the positive of Harvard is a very strong faculty and also... it's Harvard, but I'm not sure if a one year Master's will be enough time to fully absorb what I'd like to. NYU is social justice oriented, two years, and has a really interesting capstone component, but I'm concerned about keeping up with NYC living expenses for two years. Cambridge feels like third choice right now, but if they give me any sort of funding that will obviously be a huge consideration. Any insight into any of these schools would be greatly appreciated, as would context on if Harvard's stature for undergrads translates at all to obtaining a MA from their school of education.
  3. For context, my expected family contribution was 14k (which... is based off of income from a job I will no longer have once school starts), and I was also offered the max for federal direct loans ($20,500). My email back from fin aid told me that everything was calculated correctly, and they only offer a max of 5k in work study per student per year. Which, again-- absurd. One of the richest universities in the world, you'd think that if they accepted someone they wanted to attend, they'd help them attend. I also got into Cambridge, which would be $10k less in tuition for the same length of program, and that's before any funding.
  4. Only received $5,000 in work study-- honestly extremely upset by this. At one year being over 50k in tuition alone, $2,500 a semester is insulting.
  5. Got the official digital confetti letter as well-- congrats to everyone in, and great work to all applicants in general.
  6. Mine is gone as well. Literally already called my dad haha, I'm going to be devastated if it was a glitch.
  7. This is what mine looks like, at https://apply.gse.harvard.edu/apply/status When you click 'Enrollment Response Form', you get what Alley posted.
  8. Go check the admission portal-- I don't have an email yet, but in the application portal I now have an enrollment decision form to either accept or deny my admission. Good luck everyone!!!
  9. Ahh ok I didn't know that, I guess I just assumed they'd interview (I've had a surprising number of interviews considering I'm only applying for Master's). That's a bit of a relief, I was starting to worry haha. Did you apply to any other art education programs?
  10. I did! Haven't heard back about an interview yet-- I'm hoping they just haven't started inviting yet. I've gotten into a few other schools (Cambridge being the top one) so hopefully it's not an issue with my application.
