  1. Accepted into Cranbrook for ceramics. Praying to the financial gods. ?
  2. Has anyone who interviewed with Tyler heard back yet?
  3. Received a rejection for the University of Colorado Boulder this morning.
  4. Well dang. I went back and re-answered all of the questions that I felt I answered poorly, which definitely helped and gave me a little more confidence for future interviews. For the sake of both us, I hope it’s all in our heads and they understand the pressure everyone is under to perform in interviews.
  5. My first one was pretty bad. I had like a mini panic attack and blanked on some questions. Ugh. I have another interview tomorrow. I’ve just been practicing and trying to remember that this is just a way for them to get to know you and put a face to your work. Care to share any of the questions you found challenging?
  6. I said in my original comment that this was a hypothetical question posed by one of my previous professors from SAIC. He was a ceramics professor. I did end up getting asked this question in my interview with Tyler (ceramics.) I mentioned it because it’s definitely a question that could pertain to other mediums and it’s a toughy. If you are applying to an interdisciplinary program this might not be a question you have to worry about.
  7. The other questions he mentioned were pretty standard. What are your influences? Why this program specifically?
  8. Its a very confusing question that I don’t fully comprehend. I totally butchered it in my interview. Maybe how our practice and concepts relate historically to our medium?
  9. This may or may not be helpful but one of my professors from SAIC was coaching me on some interview questions and he said “They will be asking you most likely about your conceptual historical relationship with your work” this was in reference to clay, but I 100% got asked that question right off the bat in my last interview. Kind of a tough question.
  10. You’d think with applications due in December we’d heard something by now! ?
  11. Which program did you interview for at UW?
  12. Did Cranbrook offer any type of scholarship or aid? I saw something about them offering like one full ride per dept. I have an interview coming up and I’m interested in their program, but the amount of debt I’m in from SAIC undergrad is unspeakable. I’m afraid I would not be able to afford it either.
  13. I did not interview with painting but this is the response I got when I inquired about admission decisions. “Decisions are made over the course of February and March. It is a multipart process that includes different parts of Tyler and Temple, so it sometimes can be a bit drawn out.”
