  1. Hi everyone! Just checking in to see who went to the info sessions from uoft and what faculty were there if anyone can remember? Thanks!
  2. Hi everyone! Congrats on acceptances!! The wait is finally over. I was rejected for Western SLP but waitlisted for Western Aud. I know the SLP class size is around 50, does anyone know the audiology class size? Also an update for those waiting to hear back from U of A.. I emailed yesterday to inquire whether we would receive notification of rejection (I have yet to hear and am assuming this is the case) and Vicki said everyone will hear back by the end of April. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi! It's only piece of the application so that's some piece of mind and it being the first year they use it in the weight of applications may work in our favour. Were your results emailed to you or did you have to log into atlus suite again? I only wrote mine Jan 27 so it says results are pending. Also, did you complete the snapshot? It says I have until Feb 14th to finish it. Thanks!!
  4. Hi everyone, I have everything submitted for UofA but see this at the top of my application. Anyone have this?
  5. Hello! For UofA's application - I know people have mentioned that you can submit unofficial transcripts in order to submit and pay for the application. Does this apply to other documents such as CV and letter of intent also, as in making changes or replacing the document? Thanks!
  6. Eeek! I am also wondering about the official transcript requirement. My orders are in but I am not confident that they will be here for Friday. Has anyone spoken to UofA admissions about uploading an unofficial for now and updating it with the official once received? Thanks!
  7. Hi Everyone, Wishing everyone luck as they work through their applications I have reached out to my academic references but am stuck on who to choose for my professional. My work experience is working for 2.5 years as an office admin in a therapy clinic so I worked with 70 therapists (OT,PT, SW, SLP) and got to know each role/scope well for each discipline and the inner-workings of healthcare overall. My boss from this job wrote my reference letter last year and it was a very generous letter (2 pages) that I believe is strong - she is also an OT so she has a therapy background which I think is also important. My current job is a CDA at an Audiology clinic where I see up to 18 clients in a day, of all ages and work through hearing aid troubleshooting including using programming in Noah, and work alongside the Audiologist for pediatric assessments for kids 3 yrs and younger. I have been here for 6 months. With the professional letter being from a professional standpoint rather than clinical - do I keep my letter from my previous employer because the letter is strong, and she has known me longer or do I choose my current employer who can report on how I interact with clients every day and complete charting, scheduling, etc. ? Thank you for advice in advance!!
  8. Hi Everyone! I'm going to email each school but thought I would ask here just in case anyone knew. I am applying this Jan and have taken a few years off to work and build up my application, while taking a few courses as well. My prereqs (Ling and Development Psych) was taken in 2015 and my phonetics was 2016, is this OK or do pre reqs have to be completed within 5 years? I can't believe how fast time flies and I just realized now that this may an issue. Thanks in advance!
  9. Hi everyone, I got rejected from everywhere I applied to (3 schools) for my first time applying and am so thankful to have had this forum to read throughout the application process. You can try to explain the competitive nature to family and friends but I have found so much comfort and validity to my stress reading through everyone's comments -- and the positivity and encouragement makes it impossible to be bitter knowing that so many people have tried 2-3 times to get in, acceptances are so well deserved. To be honest, I have felt a little isolated in my stress and having to keep picking myself up because no one around me has gone through the same thing, so thank you to those who have shared stories and experiences. I wrote this yesterday to help process my rejections and instantly felt a little lighter, I hope those of you who didn't get accepted this year can find some light in it too. For months, I awoke mid-sleep My subconscious alight Having dreamt Of delight, acceptance Finally, what I so deeply wished for validity to all that I’d worked for. Rejected, Denied, Yet -- I am proud Of what grace And self- compassion I have found, The push-pull Of crippling self doubt And unwavering self belief; The balance Of ambition And patience When the weight of uncertainty Felt too heavy to share, gratitude, made-up mantras aligned to reset my mind. A testament To growth, The reality - Of Resiliency. Surrendering to defeat Is not weak, if brief. Fuelled by Fierce vision And my why, I will rise, to honour All that i’ve tried for, All that I have to give, All that I can be.
