  1. I did receive an invitation for an interview today with an Epi faculty. Any suggestions? This is my first time applying.
  2. Hey! Same here! I am also nervous, excited, and exhousted after sending 4/5 applications. I applied to the BU and Harvard PhD programs. Did you apply?
  3. Hi! I am not expert at all. However, I have seen that SOPHAS asks you to submit all your transcrips. Also, there is a help center section in SOPHAS where you can look for further information (https://help.liaisonedu.com/SOPHAS_Applicant_Help_Center). I have called a couple of times and they are very responsive. While the importance of the undergraduate GPA varies from program to program, I usually read that you can make your case and explain why your GPA is low in your application package, so the admission officers can consider your special circumstances. Another suggestion I would give you is to directly contact the DrPH program of your preference and ask how they weight the undergraduate GPA compared to the other application materials. I find this is the best way to get your specific questions anwered and get relevant advice on how to make your application stronger. Good luck!
  4. Wonderful! Thanks! I will apply this year to Phd programs in Epimiology. I am considering on applying to Duke Pop Health, JHU Epi, UNC Epi, Columbia Epi, and Harvard Pop Healh Sciences Epi. This will be my first time applying, so I am looking forward to learning from all of you.
  5. Thank you! You are right, I am interested in the intersection of [neglected] tropical diseases and health systems capacity building. Specially, programs with a metrics/implementation focus rather than a clinical/laboratory focus. I am pursuing an Epidemiology research career that allows me to work on the field (i.e NGOs) rather than a faculty position.
  6. Hi again, Do you know what programs would be the best option if I want to apply to global infectious disease epidemiology?
  7. Hi, nice to meet you all ? I am also applying this fall to Epidemiology (Infectious Diseases) programs if I get a good score in the GRE. My current GPA in my MPH Epi is 3.9 and I have submitted 4 papers but I am still waiting for the journals' decisions on them. I am very concerned because I heard that the acceptance rate for international students is even smaller since we are not eligible for several grants and fellowships. Do you know something regarding that? Also, I wonder if even when the schools waive the GRE requirement, not taking the exam could affect our application since there is a GRE at home option in the US.
