  1. Thanks! I think imma just expect to not get one and then be pleasantly surprised if I do get one ?
  2. Would like to know as well, ya girl is getting sorta desperate over here
  3. Oh damn ok, this scared me so I logged in on Chrome and it let me view the letters. For me I have received all of them to my email, weird that yours weren't!
  4. Wow, I would have never thought to check there lol. For some reason it's not letting me view the letters but I do believe every letter in there corresponds to each email I've received from Ryerson so far about my application. Thanks!
  5. Hi, if you don't mind me asking, where in the Ryerson portal does it indicate application status? The only thing I can find is that my documents have been received, but nothing on the status of my actual application itself. I find this portal in particular very confusing tbh
  6. I went to Queens' back in the fall and it was one big zoom call for the entire psych department, then a smaller separate one for clinical, and then an even smaller one for your POI's lab - no lab tours or anything, but the grad students were also there in the call. Although this was before the app deadline so it was open to all. Perhaps it would be structured differently for shortlisted applicants but I can't really see why it would look much different, aside from actual interviews being held.
  7. I did for McGill but that's only because I was missing more courses than allowed from the pre-requisites list because they were in-progress during fall term. You're only allowed 2 missing from your application, but I was missing 4 since I was completing 2 of them during fall term. They allowed me to submit my updated transcripts during the first week of January and replaced my existing documents with the updated ones, now I'm only missing 2 classes from the list. I'm glad they did because it would have been unfortunate to miss a whole application season just because of two courses that were completed literally only two weeks after the application deadline lol. Oops just realized you were asking specifically about U of T lol - maybe my anecdote will help, who knows
  8. Contact the admin and ask, it's likely they've gotten this question before! Perhaps you could find an online university to take the courses at, or maybe (on the condition you're accepted) you can take it in the spring/summer at their university prior to the fall that you're starting your studies.
  9. Yeah, I have a feeling if they see that they are successfully able to screen applicants without it, it may soon be perceived as an unnecessary barrier.
  10. Neither does McGill, UVic, or U of A to my knowledge. I think it's common for counselling programs to not require interviews for whatever reason.
  11. Hey!! I've been hanging out in the clinical psych thread but didn't even realize this one existed for counselling! I applied to 4 clinical programs and 1 counselling program this year, which was McGill's Project-Based MA! Any other McGill applicants here, either for the project concentration or internship concentration?
  12. I have no insight for either of you, I'm just stopping by to say it's nice to know that other Ryerson applicants are in the same boat as me ?
  13. Yup except I haven't heard anything from them regarding my CGSM, unlike UBC who emailed me confirming they received it and are forwarding it to the psych dept...
  14. Interesting!! I've never heard of anyone who's actually gone through that process, thanks for sharing! I definitely found faculty members that were excellent matches there, but I wouldn't say it was my TOP top choice that I absolutely NEEDED to apply. However, if things don't work out this year, and if classes continue to be offered remotely, I may just consider that for next year. I appreciate your anecdote, thanks again
  15. Makes sense, thanks! Also, question for you, did you do your Bachelor's at uVic? I wanted to apply there too for counselling but I'm from U of A and they are SO strict about their prerequisites. There's two classes that they just absolutely do not accept any equivalent classes for and you must take them prior to even applying!! Unless they changed their rules since then?
  16. I know this is a clinical psychology thread, but has anyone applied to McGill's counselling psychology program this year/in the past? Is early march usually around when they send out offers? On the website they say interviews are not required as a part of the admissions process for 2020... so I'm assuming the next I'll hear from them might be the admissions decision? Maybe that means offers will be going out sooner this year? Oof I have so many questions yet I know nobody who has also applied to this program lol
  17. Oh interesting, okay! Are prelim interviews department-wide at Ryerson or do some profs forgo them?
  18. Anyone know when Ryerson's official interviews are being held?
  19. I don't have any direct experience in the field I applied to research (although I have lots of research experience in other areas) which I think is hurting my chances since it's such a competitive year. Thus, if I turn up empty-handed in terms of offers, I will seek out perhaps getting involved in research that looks at the area I'm applying to, as well as find some volunteering in relevant areas. I plan on working as a psychometrist at a rehab clinic I did an undergrad internship at.
  20. I think Zoom/Skype interviews are definitely going to be a thing for every school. As for the open houses, Queen's back in November did a virtual "open house" where they had one big presentation about the psychology department, a separate smaller one for clinical, and even smaller ones for individual labs/POI's. Perhaps other universities might follow suit? Regardless, I would hope that no university is holding an in-person open house at this time. If any of my prospective schools are, I would be extremely disappointed.
  21. 100%, now it's no longer "oh it's the holidays!" but rather "oh, now's the time they'll start sending more emails out"... to make it worse I still have one more week of break because my university extended winter break due to COVID so I don't even have school to distract myself ahhhhh
  22. I feel literally everything in this post 100% haha, right down to the weird dreams and the flip-flopping. I also have not heard back from any school and it’s getting sort of disheartening, but right now people seem to be hearing back about preliminary interviews, which means that there’s going to be lots of variation in who reaches out when. I’m doing my best to stay positive and remind myself it’s not over until there’s a rejection email!!
