  1. This is my thought exactly. I think I might had just applied to a field that didn't had any project/funding, which is why the application got ghosted entirely as the subject matter experts probably didn't even review it.
  2. This matches the email they sent out when you submitted your apps. In the email, it stated: Thank you for applying to the NDSEG Fellowship Program! The next steps in the process are: The application packet review by our Subject Matter Experts in February The top applications will go to the DoD panel review in March Notifications to Awardees will be sent in April Notifications to those not selected will be sent following award acceptance. Thank you for your interest in the NDSEG Fellowship and best of luck to you! However, this doesn't match the Jan 31 "2nd Round DoD Update" people are getting nor the panel review period stated in (https://ndseg.org/smes) from 09 Dec to 17 Jan. It does match with what you got on the application page. So go figures
  3. @ryanleh What field did you apply under? IIRC, last year NDSEG updates was varying between department/fields
  4. On waitlist, still waitlisted, heard nothing. How about you?
  5. on a sidenote, does anyone knows how the waitlist procedure works?
  6. It could also be more BAA related than branch.
  7. no February update, but got a march update.
  8. One thing my adviser did mention to me was that last year's NDSEG deadline was apparently a lot later than this year's, which could affect the update timeline........
  9. According to cellbiogal on page 3 "Welcome! You definitely missed out on some (neurotic) fun last year! It appears that the update reflects NDSEG administrators updating the status of your application on that date, but it doesn’t actually say what that status change was. If you check out last years thread, we noticed the dates back in April while we were waiting for award results. At the time, some people had a december update and some people had an april update. Then as the days passed, the april people kept getting another update here and there. When awards were released, all of #decembergang was rejected. Some of the April people were awardees, some were waitlisted, and some were rejected. We concluded that if you didn’t have an april update, you were cut back in December. BUT, Since we only started looking for this in April, its unclear what updates happen in November through April. (Ie. Did everyone get an update on in december? Were there February updates? Its unclear.) I think a natural hypothesis for now is that a November update means your application was marked as complete and will be evaluated, but it’s impossible to know with certainty. Also, we made a spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/2/d/1HHwP8Zyh8W24HRUh5WnObRExb24JhN5ZLTa7p5Q8CkI/htmlview#gid=0"
  10. Sys-Plus is such a hack lol. I actually accidentally hit the save button on recommendation section awhile back when they first send out a reminder email and i got this back from Rob: "Saving does not over-write the completed reference. The only way that happens is if the reference you requested uses the link once again and over-writes it themselves." I have no idea what happen between the two weeks but obviously something happen that cause you to get lock out. Words cannot express how happy I am when I got the confirmation email from Sys-plus. Between fighting the PDF compliance on NSF and dealing with Sys-plus antics on NDSEG, I am just happy everything is over.
