  1. I have found academic twitter really helpful. Particularly @Psychchatter and @PsychinOut
  2. I was going to post the same thing. I've been wrestling with rejection and I actually cried during the first part of the video because she details EXACTLY what I've been feeling during this time. It's been so lonely and the video made me feel like I was apart of a community of people. She really normalized the experience of rejection in psychology PhD programs because no one talks about it.
  3. Hey everyone! I wanted to start a thread on media that has helped you in your application process/grad school journey especially in psychology. For me, its so helpful to hear real people talking about their experiences as applicants, students, and PhD holders. Please list your recommendations! Here are a few that have helped me: Ana Psychology (Clinical Psych PhD Student): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOxhlNofmYH-MRC36TURUGw Renae's Corner (Clinical-Child Psych PhD Student at St Louis): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkriYtzji7NRUw7fsmL-HNQ Becoming Dr. Baker (Counseling Psych PhD Student at Columbia: https://www.youtube.com/becomingdrbaker Grad Life Grind (Clinical Psychology PhD Student): https://www.instagram.com/gradlifegrind/?hl=en Podcasts: Academic Womxn Amplified Hello PhD Dear Grad Student All of these are super fun to have in the background or to take notes on. They are more authentic than other guides out there and I really enjoy!
  4. Hi guys! I've been on this site for the past few months *lurking* but finally made an account. I'm applying to a few PhD programs in clinical and counseling psychology and one in developmental. I saw this posting for a free panel that's geared towards BIPOC applicants but has helpful information for everyone and will be hosted by Dr. Mitch Prinstein. It's got a really fantastic group of psychologists including one from UNC on there and one student from Columbia University's Teachers College who makes Youtube Videos applying. Here's the link to the event: https://www.colorado.edu/psychology-neuroscience-advising/2020/10/26/getting-psych-grad-school-panel-bipoc-students-nov-9
