I agree. If the person wanted to post the PI wouldn't they have just done that?

Kinda wish there was a rule on the results page that posts asking for PI's just automatically get removed. It causes way too much clutter.

Obviously this has been a stressful time and I keep refreshing all the things as sort of a compulsion to deal with my anxiety. However I've been trying to frame this time in this way:
This is a time of opportunity. I have applied to 7 schools I am excited about and because I have not heard either way about anything, there is still possibility for each one. I have my own separate fantasy of the research and I could conduct with each POI and what my day to day would be like at each location. Yes I could get no interview invitations, or if I do I could get no acceptances. However, in this moment my future is full of possibility and excitement and I'm choosing to be in that space (at least today - other days I'm filled with dread.)

I have no where else to express these musings so here we are

If it's at all reassuring, last year I received interview invites for 6 clinical psych phd programs ranging from December 26-January 22! I also know that due to the increased number of applicants this year that things may be taking longer (inside scoop from a clinical psych phd faculty). I recommend not being too harsh on yourself - it's quite early yet ❤️

I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck! You are all capable and intelligent individuals, and you will end up where you're supposed to be. As a 3rd year now, I still remember the stress and anxiety of submitting applications and waiting to hear back and the feelings of sadness and failure when I didn't get interview offers. I ended up getting 1 interview, which led to 1 acceptance. The program I'm in now wasn't originally my 1st choice, but looking back, I am so happy with where I am and the opportunities I've had throughout this experience. It's a rollercoaster for sure. But remember, all you need is 1.
The coping skills you develop now will be helpful in the years to come, as the anxiety about program interviews will be replaced by anxieties regarding externship applications, internship applications, and postdoc applications. I say this not to scare you, but to remind you to be kind to yourself as you are about to embark on a long, challenging, but incredibly rewarding journey. You'll all do great ❤.

It is a good thing that you shared your worries here. I also think that you made the right choice. It's not about the prestige of school that matters. It's what you do and what you will choose to do with your degree. I am not sure of the pandemic restrictions in Hawaii. But that place is lovely. You can go to the beach or go hiking when you feel stressed about your decisions. Look at the ocean and relax. Do yoga in your free time in graduate school. Refrain from listening to negative people.
The fact that those schools admitted you mean you are competent in what you have done in the past. And you can do it again in graduate school and once you graduate. Sometimes, the people closest to you will be the first one to demotivate you and say you made the wrong choice. I think they matter to you so much, that's why you feel like that. Show those people that they are wrong about judging you on your decisions. Eventually, when you are already successful in your field, their negative opinion will no longer bother you. You will be successful, and you can do it.
I pray for your long-term success and God's guidance.
