    Also I just saw you applied to Gatech. I applied last cycle and they seems to require you to contact a professor for you to be accepted. They seems to send out accptance and dont have much interview. ( its the bioeningeering and cs department) but you should ask the admin this time.

    I am pretty sure MD Anderson provide full scholarship includes stipend and health care insurance... Did you apply the bbs program ?

    I have seen an invite of UCLA bioinformatics on the grad cafe earlier... UNC seems to sent invites pretty eraly.... Harvard seems always late. UW Genome should be before Chrismas based on past years. @ChagyrskayaNeanderthal

    my last cycle. Also a lot of competition but i totally bombed interview. applied genetics and couldn't even answer wheter a gene is dominant or recessive given the information lol

    For me, its mixed. I didn't reach out to every program and every professor I am interesed, especially some big professor with tons of fundings and a really big lab. I don't really want to bother them until I got an invite or admitted maybe. But if I am really interested what an AP is doing I will sent out an email detailing my experience and interest, as they are most likely looking for talent and less busy then the establisted professor.

    We received a large amount and will only be able to interview about one quarter. This is what the coordinator told me. I believe that what she meant ?

    They emailed me back saying they are actively reviewing and will invite a quarter to interview. The decision is across the program regardless of tracks

    Seems Duke is sending invitations soon. The crumble feeling of end up nothing is eating me alive.

    Gonna email them tomorrow and see. The UMass program has been kinda weird letting you choose three area but not giving you an order. Not sure how that application review process is doing but hopefully there are more to come

    I think you could expect dartmouth soon but others could take some time.

    are you sure its UCLA mecial informatics not the system and computational biology program? medical informatics is very different from bioinformatics just curious

    I think depends on programs lol. a lot of program still rejects half after interview. Don't make me answer how I learned this hard way

    Honestly, what's everyone's safty school. Honestly, looking at the school list just kills my dream to any reachy school lol...

    The speed is too quick .... Microbiology would be very hot bc of COVID and I totally understand. I hope others are the same. Also I am international so I am more competing with international students that might be a different pool anyway

    I don't know too much but these are twitter. I think some professor posted these. Art and Sciences departments are extremely bad. Not so sure about medical school... some psy phd saw a 2X increase
