What the heck!? I’m so sorry. Gah. Hopefully they follow up soon!
-
Hopefully they call you back first thing this morning with an official acceptance!
-
Thanks!
-
For those who were called - do you mind sharing who contacted you?
-
Grats! Happy for everyone! I’ll hold out a smidge of hope and see if I get contacted tomorrow. ? Otherwise - back to the drawing board.
-
Grats! * sorry, apparently I’ve maxed out my allowable reactions today. ?
-
This is my attempt at tagging. ? Any calls or updates?

Gah! The suspense. Luckily, I am really busy today I would probably be refreshing everything right now. lol. Good luck everyone!
-
Absolutely! If/when I get into a program I’ll probably pin a picture of the respective regalia at my desk as motivation! ?

Nothing here.

Welcome!

I’m so happy we have all been able to connect! It’s definitely nice to have some company.

It is odd that some schools require you to buy robes if you want the official colors. I think Penn gives you black robes if you rent? I haven’t don’t that much research because I don’t want to put the cart before the horse. ?

I think my interview could have gone better. ? I’m a little rusty, last time I had to interview for something I really wanted was 2015. You can practice and research but it’s not the same. I feel like I rambled and afterward I thought, oof - this would have been a better answer, etc.

37K is not bad! I wish UTK would drop the GRE within 5 years requirement ?

I’ve found scholarships are a little harder to come by for professional degrees - but there are often opportunities for stipends or loan assumption depending on which sector you go into. I did psychiatric social work with a local govt. agency with an at risk/underserved population and was given a 20K stipend and automatic job with that agency upon graduation. That agency also offered 10K a year in loan assumption.

Most of the online programs have the same staff for their in-person and online platforms. You’re still getting the quality professors that programs like BU, Michigan, etc would have on faculty. That being said, if possible, I would go to a program (Maryland? VCU? - I think they both offer online?) that has local connections and networking. I feel that that sometimes outweighs an ‘elite’ school (e.g. Columbia), and bonus if you get in-state tuition.

Grats on the interview!
