Very true. I can't imagine having to go through applications from home especially with there being potentially a lot more... or even a lot less than normal. My app was due November 15th but my PI told me they did have more applicants than normal so it makes sense. I'm holding out hope that I hear back by Christmas. Best of luck to you, I am sure things will work out for you! Hopefully we all can have some of our anxiety eased soon.

I’m not upset about it taking so long because I get it’s a confusing time and lots of applicants... I just wish they’d send out confirmation emails, or emails saying “it’s taking awhile we’ll get back by [x] date” so I can relax instead of spending every moment of my life on this website ?

I haven't heard back either. I'm really hoping we hear back before Christmas but that's starting to look like it's not going to happen!

Nice! I did developmental science! Yeah I saw that, I don’t think they do interviews either before accepting which is kinda scary!!! Hopefully we’ll see each other there this fall!!

That is very reassuring! I am really nervous about not getting in, but I will definitely be reapplying and I'm happy to hear your experience, that makes me less anxious haha, thanks!! That's good to know! In the clinical forum it sounds like a lot of them have years of experience or MA degress so I'm glad the school psych is more of a level field it sounds like. I have some research experience so hopefully I will be okay. Thanks for the input!!

This is my first round of applications and I was just wondering if anyone knows... are fields like school psych / dev psych as competitive as it sounds like clinical psych is? I've been looking at the clinical psych boards (because what else am I going to do but anxiously refresh this website 800 times a day) and from the sounds of it, clinical psych is ridiculously competitive and a few people were even saying it's rare for people to get in right out of undergrad. Anyone know if this is similar for school and dev psych? That it takes a few rounds of applying to get in?

Anyone else apply to University of Minnesota? I don't expect to hear anything for awhile but I'm curious if anyone else applied!

I'm the same way. One day I will spend the whole day being confident and thinking I definitely am going to get in and then I either reread my materials and find about 1,000 flaws or I read other people's experiences and think about how many people applied this year and convince myself that there's no way I'm getting in. I feel the same as you - I definitely could frame everything I've done in a really awesome way and make myself sound qualified and confident, but I'm not sure if I did that effectively in my application so I'm nervous as heck. For my own sanity and my boyfriend's sanity I need to hear back about interviews soon because the longer I have to wait the more I flip back and forth and it sucks!!

Thinking this is probably the week a lot of us will start hearing back from schools about interviews... good luck to everyone and I hope we all hear back from our #1's!!!

I’m a middle school teacher too! 6th grade language arts! I’m student teaching so not as much work as yours so props to you ? I think most if not all of the interviews will probably be virtual, and i’m definitely sad about it. I understand why but I was hoping to take a trip haha I’m a senior right now too! I definitely feel young and when I look at the demographics of my PhD program it seems most of them are 25+ which adds to all of my nervousness I’m already feeling ?

Hahahha thank you! My boyfriend thinks I’m crazy because I seriously have dreams about getting accepted / not getting accepted so often ?? Yeah that’s awesome of Washington. I actually reached out to a grad student advisor to ask if they had sent interviews yet at University of Minnesota and all she said was “We’re working on some final details so we haven’t sent letters yet.” Ahhhhh I get it’s a crazy year but i’m going insane lol

Anyone else super anxious and feel like they are going to explode waiting for interview invitations lol. I feel like I am going to explode from having to wait and wanting to know so bad!! I applied to U of M and their program has a 45% acceptance which is pretty good, but all I've been able to do the last few months is look back at my application and think to myself what I should've done different or better hahaha. Anyone else literally going crazy?

From what I’ve read and heard a lot of schools are taking longer this year to invite to interviews. I would assume it’s because of still trying to logistically figure out how interviewing and budget will work for an interview day this year... I wouldn’t worry about not hearing back yet. (At least that’s what I’m telling myself so I don’t freak out!!)

I know you posted this awhile ago, but I'm feeling jittery and need to talk to as many people as I can haha. I also applied to University of Minnesota, have you heard anything about interviews yet? I'm starting to get nervous but want to know if I should or shouldn't be anxious yet!

Hey guys! I'm going to be honest I'm only applying to University of Minnesota because I plan to live there regardless... but I still am really really wanting to get in. Has anyone hear anything so far? I know interview day is early January so I'm thinking invitations should be sent soon and each day I don't hear I get more nervous! When I emailed the faculty member I want to work with she said that they had a "record number of applicants" this year. So I'm a bit nervous. Anyone else? Anyone hear anything?

I'm also applying to PhD at Minnesota! When I emailed I heard invitations for interview day come in "early December"... have you heard anything yet?
