Just saw someone on Twitter post that they got into the University of Iowa's Sociology program! I guess they've already started sending out acceptances ?
-
Hello everyone, a trusted source shared that we will finally be getting letters from CUNY by Monday...
-
Hey! I also had my interview with CUNY few weeks ago. I emailed one of the profs yesterday to ask for an update, but no luck, although last week when I spoke to him he said we would get the emails early this week, which obviously hasn't happened... I'm really upset tbh, even though I have other options but I'm really keen on CUNY. However, I'm curious, if admitted, do you guys have plans for how to make ends meet in NYC on a grad student stipend?
-
Any tips for preparing for an interview?

Check other threads in this forum, they already answered this -
Can you elaborate? What about the conversation gave you that impression? Was the conversation/notification over the phone rather than email?
-
I highly doubt they would suspend it after already accepting applications and having people submit and pay fees... I applied, I haven't heard back but I also remember their deadline was rather late so perhaps this delay is normal
-
Has anyone heard from CUNY? They were supposed to send out letters early this week and they still haven't...
-
Congratulations!

I'm keeping busy with a research project that I'm doing for work, and Kindle books on the side...
-
So Yale already did interviews?:(
-
That Stanford package is ?. Congrats to the admits!!
-
Harvard sent out letters last year on the 16th or 17th, so around mid Feb? Although honestly I don't think anyone can provide an accurate timeline unless they've spoken to the admissions coordinator
-
Same here! Last year they accepted six students, I bet it's even less this year
-
OK, another Stanford acceptance just posted... probably not fake then
-
I think last year they sent them out on the 18th of Feb. I really hope that post is fake.
-
Anyone claiming the Stanford acceptance? I'm surprised they'd send out decisions on a weekend
-
If someone gets accepted without an interview then the department would not have done interviews in general... do you mean you know of someone who got accepted at a place that did interviews without having to do one himself/herself? if so, I'd be really curious to know where this happened
-
I'm assuming that is the case, because it would be rather unfair to extend an offer to someone who didn't go through the interview process and for example reject someone else who did. But I would recommend you email them just to make sure and get a definite answer.
-
FYI to those who were interviewed by CUNY: They have finished finalizing the list of students they intend to extend offers to, are waiting on final approval from the administration and will be sending offers out early next week
-
New week of hell
-
Do you know if they conducted interviews with *all* shortlisted applicants? I saw some interview posts on the results board. So if we didn't get an interview invitation we should be preparing for rejection letters?
-
No, no reply. I was in touch with the admissions coordinator for a while and she was usually prompt with her replies. My guess and hope is that they're busy finalizing letters and that's why she hasn't responded. I know UT Austin has sent out letters for polisci last week so perhaps it would be our turn this week?

Anyone hear claiming the Yale interview email??
