I'm not sure if this post warrants a reply but... (1) UCLA, UC Irvine, University of Washington, Berkeley, UCSF, and University of Michigan are all state schools. (2) Not necessarily the case... Not all schools/departments are suitable for every applicant, so you can wish someone well in their endeavors. Also, it doesn't hurt to send out good wishes to others

I applied to both the PhD program and the training program. I'm not certain about if interviews are normally conducted for Columbia, and I haven't seen anyone else mentioning that they have gotten word from the school.. I know the training program only takes one student per year, so it seems my chances are low.. It's all been very mysterious to me so I'm sorry I can't be more helpful!
-
Whoops, I forgot to quote you.. I applied to epi, and had a set of interviews!
-
Epidemiology! I had a set of interviews with the training program for which I applied
-
Your post prompted me to check mine and I have the same message... !!! ??? (confused but hopeful... ah!)
-
Congrats! I work at the university and getting my MPH here! LMK if you have any questions about the area/the university

Hi all, I just got an interview request for Columbia's psychiatric epidemiology training fellowship! I don't know what that means for my chances of being accepted into the epidemiology program but I'm taking this as a sliver of hope during this (extremely tough) waiting period.
-
I applied to JHU's Mental Health program and haven't heard anything! I was, however, rejected by their epidemiology program. Hoping they have updates for us soon! ?
-
Agree that the waiting period is very tough. From last year's thread, it seems like people started hearing back for interviews in early-mid January. But with the pandemic, I'm guessing the timeline could be a little different-- hoping they let us know sooner rather than later!

After you submitted your application, you should have gotten an email saying "thank you for applying to XYZ school... check your applicant portal and activate your account" (image attached) Hope this helps!
