Amazing question. I'm pretty sure it's by uploading additional documents with SAM... Anyone else have an answer to this question??

Hi all - I haven't read through all the posts (I've been trying to avoid this thread as much as possible! Hello, increased anxiety!) but I wanted to share something interesting that I heard from the U of T information session last month... He said that you can upload as many references as you want and you may get lucky and the person reviewing your application may read them and take them into account! So it's worth it to still get your clinical supervisor to write something down just in case. Also, he said that if you have a relationship with a professor who is no longer on the faculty, but held a significant position before they left, you can still get them to write you your academic letter (if they feel comfortable doing so). Hope this helps!

Got waitlisted for Western and U of T. Pretty disappointed, because I thought I had a pretty solid, well-rounded application. I won't be able to go to Western even if I get in because of my family situation (married, baby on the way, and just signed a 1 year lease on a house...), so I'm not very confident that I'll be attending any SLP program this year! Trying to stay positive but I'm finding it hard to stomach reapplying next year. The cost of all this is so inaccessible - like, aside from application fees, taking more courses to raise grades, taking volunteer positions instead of working for money...- 1,803 replies

This is so helpful, thank you! I am relieved to hear that my GPA will be recalculated! Bummer about the prereqs under Personal Submissions, but I know the universities will see the grades eventually.- 1,803 replies

Hello! Does anyone know where we should send updated transcripts if they're currently available? Should I send to ORPAS or straight to the universities (only applied to Ontario programs)?- 1,803 replies

That makes sense. So the assumption is they won't send it until all fall grades are finalized? Because technically the term is complete, only the grades are not.- 1,803 replies

Hi hi! Quick question (probably for those who have applied already) - How soon is "send immediately" for transcripts being sent through ORPAS? My concern is that my grades for one of my courses won't be finalized until around Jan. 15. I'm worried that the transcripts will be sent while the grades are still "in progress." Anybody know anything about this? TIA! And good luck everyone!- 1,803 replies

I don't know the answer to your question, but if your boss is willing to write a 2+ page reference letter... wow! The whole reference form is quite extensive and will require a lot of writing from your referee. I've never seen a limit mentioned for the letter itself, but I'd guess that most do not exceed much more than a page, but if they do, all the more power to you.- 1,803 replies

While we're on the topic of the statement of intent and volunteer hours... The U of T website say that the statement of intent should include two sections, and the second section should include, in point-form, all the details of any relevant volunteer positions. I'm confused. Why would we need to put it there if it's already on the application?- 1,803 replies

You can't indent, but you can still make paragraph breaks. They don't even count in the character count.- 1,803 replies

HI! I put "PAID" before the description. I guess the question is if we'll be penalized by U of T for putting this information in. Has anyone reached out directly to ask about this? My hope is the U of T will just ignore the entries that say "paid" instead of penalizing the application (or better yes, look favourably at it....)- 1,803 replies

Hi! Anyone else panicking? ? I just realized I have no idea if I ever sent my transcripts over from Athabasca. Right now, Athabasca is only emailing transcripts. Does anyone know the email address they are supposed to send it to? Thanks in advance and GOOD LUCK everyone!- 1,803 replies

Oh man. Just came here to ask about this. U of T DEFINITELY said last year that you cannot include paid experience in the volunteer section; this may have changed due to COVID, however. Has anyone heard different information? As of now, I put my (2400 hours) of work experience in the volunteer section, but wrote "PAID" before the description.- 1,803 replies

Hi everybody! This thread has been both a source of anxiety and comfort during application season! I had a question for you all... Last year at a U of T info session, someone asked if there was a place to put relevant work experience. The admissions coordinators running the session seemed shocked by this question. They asked, "How would you have relevant work experience without having a degree?" Have you guys ever heard this reaction? It can't really be that rare to have work experience in the field - a few of you have even posted about it here! I'm finding it so frustrating that I have to fit all my work into a 3000 character statement of intent. Anyone have tips? Really grateful that this year, due to them waiving the requirement for a clinical letter, I can at least have my boss be my referee.- 1,803 replies
