I am not sure which program within the department you're referencing but the part time DrPH Executive Doctoral Program in Health had interviews in February and they indicated decisions would be out this week. This is not related the PhD programs though!
-
In theory!! I know that's how it was last year but can't remember if anyone heard anticipated timeline formally for this year. UNC did tell me to expect this week for their DrPH.
-
Didn't apply but congrats!! Is it a full time program? I only applied to part time programs offered mainly online. Good luck!!

Silence here too so far! Previous years were first week of March. About a month ago noticed some faculty/admins had viewed my linkedin but no contact.

Congratulations!! And good luck!!

I also have not heard anything. There was one person on here a long while back that received an interview invite but as others have noted it doesn't seem to be standard. I have seen a couple of people from hopkins look at my linkedin as my settings allow me to see that. And of course now that they haven't looked in a couple weeks I'm fretting. This is worse than dating was!

I received an interview invite for the DrPH in HPM at UNC but haven't had it yet. Was the acceptance for the DrPH?

Parenting and Academics: Support (or Rant) Thread :D
Ajrw replied to dr_megaevil's topic in Public Health Forum
So happy you started this thread! Parenting and working has been so challenging during the pandemic. Excited to talk with others who are thinking through how to juggle multiple responsibilities! -
Yes, I'll PM you after the interview!

I LOVE the idea of a parent thread @dr_megaevil (although I don't know whether I'll get in yet!). Having worked some pretty demanding (80 hr week) jobs with kids I remember wondering how on Earth I would make it work. Someone said to me "you just do. You don't see it now, but priorities change and you just make it work" and that turned out to be really true. I think we don't realize how much we are capable of. Everyone is different but 3 things have worked for me 1. Having an AMAZING partner. He does way more than 50% and allows me to prioririze my career without making me feel guilty or like a bad mom. When I'm traveling for work, he's with the kids and I know they're good. 2. Compartmentalizing so when I'm with them, I'm with them and not focusing on work and vice versa (note: applies 0% during the pandemic, ha) 3. Not being a perfectionist even a little bit. They're breathing? #winning! Also....avoid the judgy (and anti vaxx) parent forums lol.

Yes, I was happy to see that too! Full time job plus 2 kids.....plus doctorate? Totally reasonable, right?
-
Awesome!! Way to go little one! Not sure if this your first, but from my perspective it only gets more fun (and hilarious) from here. My two little ones are 2 and 5 so it's all dinosaurs all the time.

Hi all, I posted this on the combined thread and realized it is probably more relevant here! I received an invite to interview from the DrPH program at UNC Gillings last week. Unfortunately, it went to my spam so I was a couple days late replying. So, if you applied to the UNC DrPH you might consider checking your spam.

Thanks! It's later this week. Wishing you the best!

My interview invite went to spam so you might consider checking!

Hi all, For those who applied to the UNC Gillings DrPH program, I wanted to let you know, I received an interview invitation but it went to my spam. Wanted to let you all know in case it's happened to yours as well! I wound up being a couple days late on my response.
-
What a terrible way for them to manage that! So sorry ?
-
I would assume phd both since you applied and got the email and since I think the DrPH has historically had later notifications (it appears). Thanks again!!
-
For the phd, not the DrPH? Thanks for the info!!
-
So sorry to hear that! I am going to check my portal now as maybe I have a rejection waiting for me. Wishing you the best with JHU!

Hi all, just checking in to see if anyone has received an interview invite from UNC's DrPH program? It seems like they had gone out by now last year but I am guessing they also had a surge in applications.
