  1. Any updates on UT Austin? The only place I've heard nothing from. Nobody has posted acceptances or rejections on the results page...
  2. Rejection from NIH-OxCam stings it was my first choice. Lucky to have other options, but damn... they really dragged me through three days of recruitment and interviews just to give me the axe.
  3. Sorry just saw this. Got the PBS offer a couple weeks ago. Co-mentored by Drs. Barrett and Chen. w/r/t UPenn neuro, I'm still slightly considering it, but they don't have a lab that does work in my specific area
  4. Only been ghosted by UT Austin so far, so I'm happy with my acceptances and basically down to choosing between Hopkins Psych and Brain Sciences and Duke Clinical Psych! Would love to chat with anyone else thinking about those programs.
  5. There was a chunk of people that heard a couple weeks ago but nobody since. I haven't heard anything, therefore I assume I'm not getting invited to an interview. I'm starting to assume I'm not getting an interview from Stanford either, but haven't quite lost hope yet.
  6. Do people know generally whether/when schools send rejection emails? I was hoping to know for sure about which schools I was rejected from by the time I start interviews
  7. are you the same person who posted about the phone call? congrats btw!! that's awesome.
  8. oh i meant there was a number but it was unsaved in my contacts. wish i could go back and see area code!
  9. I got a call today from an unknown number but my phone died while it was ringing ? no idea if it was Stanford or spam lol and i can't see the number anymore
  10. JHU Psych and Brain Sciences committee is meeting today to decide interviews!
  11. Wow. That does not bode well lol. What does "NHW" mean in your bio mean, btw?
  12. UT Austin is confusing me. Apparently someone received a rejection email (and they had insane stats). And a few have reported interviews. Haven't heard anything myself...
  13. looks like a second person posted an interview invite, but from Dec. 7th which is hard to believe
  14. oh hey that was me. they called me but i didn't answer cuz i thought it was spam lmao and my voicemail greeting is super non-professional oops. but then they went me an email lol.
  15. But if 10 PIs want students and there's only 5 spots...
  16. That's what I'm thinking about doing. Many post-bacc programs are only one year to do all the med school prereqs!
  17. Do PIs basically have to fight over taking students? Because it seems like there are way more faculty than the amount of students they let in at a lot of programs.
  18. Is this Fall going to be any different than other years? I don't think I'm going to wait multiple years to apply personally. I can't just put my life on hold for something that I have no guarantee of getting.
  19. Jesus christ guys. The thing is if you apply and don't get in, that can easily be a year of your life wasted. I think I'm going to apply this Fall but also apply to post-bacc premed programs and consider med school a "backup" as crazy as that sounds.
  20. I'm in pretty much the exact same position! But there's just no guarantee even if you have all the right qualifications. I'm in a full-time research coordinator position now, which is great and I'm lucky to have it. But it's by no means a long-term job. I make 35k haha.
  21. What do people normally do as backups? Masters programs? Med school?
  22. Wow... I thought I wanted to do a Clinical Psych PhD, but these acceptance rates are crazy!! I consider myself a competitive applicant, but when the acceptance rates are so low, how can you plan for anything?? I see some really good research matches at OHSU, for example, but someone on the results page has a 4.0 GPA Clinical Psych Masters and a 3.96 Undergrad GPA, plus research experience, and they didn't even get an interview... According to their website, the average is 44.5 months of research experience.... what the heck?? That's four years! I'm so sad right now...I wish these programs weren't so ridiculously competitive.
