  2. Hi everyone! Just wondering, are there any current Windsor students on here that could PM me? I don't have an interview by the way (will share here if that happens), just had a couple questions about the program i was hoping to ask

I'm really curious, does anyone have any thoughts on how important the following factors are and what you should consider in choosing programs to apply to or attend? - Location - 6 vs 7 year programs (and how programs are split up - e.g., 2 year MA + 4 year PhD, 1 year MA + 5 year PhD, etc.) - Overall workload/intensity of the program (does this really differ between schools or are they all roughly the same? If it differs, which schools have heavier or lighter workloads?) - Model (clinical scientist vs scientist practitioner) Hope to hear some of your opinions on these
  4. Does anyone know what's going on with Ryerson? There seems to be a mix of clinical interview, interview day, and informal interview invites on the results page. Are clinical interview and interview day invites the same thing and do they get sent out in a mass email or by faculty?
  5. Anyone have a good description of the differences between the two models? Everything I've read has still left me kind of confused!
  6. I think it depends on what makes the supervisor ideal and how they differ from the supervisor at your ideal program. If it was their personality, work ethic, etc. that just really fit well with mine, I'd probably put that pretty high up on my list of priorities (more so than program) just because I find this vital to being able to do my best work. Not to mention, 6+ years working closely with someone you just aren't as comfortable with or don't get along with as well as you could sounds pretty tough, more so than 6+ years in a program that maybe lacks a course or two or has a slightly different structure. Research fit, though still a priority, I wouldn't value quite as much because I only applied to labs where I had interest in the research and could probably develop stronger interests in over time. That's just me though! As for program, courses aren't too high on my list of priorities because I imagine that if there was an area I really wanted to learn about, I could try to pursue related research or do some independent learning. That said, someone else's point about using courses to gauge the school's priority is really wise. Clinical orientation is also important to me because I'm interested in a clinician-type job after grad school, but I guess it would depend on how flexible the school was and whether a clinical vs academic/research career was your end goal.
  7. Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone be willing to share any thoughts/info about the strengths, limitations, other characteristics, etc. of any schools or programs? Whether you know about the school from being a past undergrad/current grad student, having interviewed there, knowing students there, etc., I'd love to learn more! I'm especially interested in Ontario schools because I'm currently in BC and hope to move to Ontario for grad school, but i think it would be valuable to learn about any schools/programs. If you're willing, feel free to share what you know here or PM me if that's more comfortable. TIA
