    I just wanted to talk about feelings of discouragement- which may be surfacing a lot right now. Most people have to apply multiple times to get into the program they want and there's nothing wrong with that! When I applied for the first time 3 years ago, I was so overwhelmed with the novelty of this intricate process, not to mention trying to balance school work simultaneously. I actually think some time off is beneficial because it allows you to reflect and focus on other things you may be neglecting- there are other things that matter in life!     1000 applications?! That's actually insane. This is literally no different from a lottery at this point LOL. Does that number refer to clinical psych or all graduate psych programs?

    Perhaps this is an unpopular opinion, but I've been noticing people are very hesitant to share their POIs they've received interview invites from. This is my third year applying and in the past, everyone has always been very open and transparent about this. I find it a little disheartening as this forum is meant to provide some reassurance and clarity throughout this very difficult process. In addition, I'm not quite sure how an anonymous user sharing their POI's initials can jeopardize their success in the interview or admissions process. I know I can't control people's actions or force anyth
