What with COVID it seems MOST but not all schools are running a week or so behind on their normal release dates so I'd give them a bit more time. If you have a PoI there you've talk to before you could always reach out and check or if you're willing you can contact the DGA in the department and inquire.

No interviews for Kentucky from my understanding.

Hey! A fellow Kentucky applicant! I'll double check with my advisor from there but I think he said expect something by the middle of this month.

Well everyone, we made it through the first week of Feb; for some of us it was good news and for others bad while a lot of us still wait anxiously. No matter what camp you are in though, use the weekend to relax and recharge as we prepare for another week of likely decisions. Just remember you are never out until it's over!

Depends on the circumstances. You definitely shouldn't reach out after your application is in or in the middle of decision season if you haven't talked to them before. I was introduced to most of the professors I talked with via my advisor from my undergrad or professors in my current department for my Master's program; I only "cold called" or reached out to professors without being introduced first like twice during the summer and thankfully both were receptive and willing to talk over Zoom.

Dispute Resolution amongst interstate coalitions, studying rebel alliances and why some rebel groups choose to work together or oppose one another and the role of Bretton Wood's institutions in furthering the national interests of US . Those are the three things I'm interested in researching and depending on which school I was writing for I adjusted my SoP accordingly.

I talked to them a few times in the Fall and follow them on Twitter. I emailed them a few days ago to ask about decisions but I wouldn’t say I’m in constant communication with them

I did a summer program at Harris and it’s a great school for policy if that’s your focus. They are great at training you on quant methods too.

My PoI at Chicago said they are still finalizing who to admit so maybe next week or the week after.

A waitlist beats a rejection indeed, congrats! I hope you really like formal theory if you end up at Rochester! One of the professor was a guest speak for a seminar I was in this semester and his working paper had SO MUCH GAME THEORY in it that it went over most of our heads lol

Congrats! Glad you get into your top choice! That is super exciting! Meanwhile I'm over here slowly starting to lose hope in Vanderbilt cause I've see another interview in the results XD

Having fun conversations with a PoI on Twitter gives me hope that maybe that is a good sign for my application there but we will have to see in the coming days/weeks lol I'm taking any small signs of hope I can at this point as I wait for answers.
