  1. Hi Is there anyone who applied to the short term research grant for graduates and heard something already? Thanks:)
  2. Hi, may I ask to which funding did you apply and also from which country, if you don't mind? thanks Plus I don't know what it exactly means but I'm sure you'll get the official anouncement within max. 3 weeks, I suppose.
  3. Oh I see what you mean. I don't think they give "priority" to some countries more than others but still, there might be other reasons. I don't know.
  4. I do not think they are more willingly to award certain candidates just based on (or because of) the region/country of the said candidate. Depending on the funding type, they are most probably especially consider the quality of the research proposal, overall profile of the candidate etc. but just because you are coming from X or Y country/region, you are not most -or least, for that matter- likely to be awarded.
  5. Hi First of all, I wish you luck. Secondly, I was wondering one thing: do you think they send the rejection "news" earlier or they sent all the feecbacks at the same time? I am a master's thesis student and this year I applied to the short term research grant (due was 16th Nov.) and they told me they will announce the results within 3 weeks after the commitee gather up in March.
  6. Hi. I know we applied to different grants and possibly from different countries but I think the fact that you still got no response might mean that at least you did not get a rejection so as you said possibly you are still in the game. Also, I don't remember where I read that at the time but back then when I applied to language course scholarship in 2019, I remember I read that they usually sent the rejection mails around Feb. I know that's a bit speculation but let's hope that we don't get any negative feedback within this month. Plus, I applied to short term research grant (deadline was around November 15 or something like that) and now my status is "papier copies received". 1 month ago or so they sent me an email and told me that decision comittee will gather up around March and they will "as a rule" inform the applicants within 3 weeks so there is that. I think if you want to contact with your local DAAD office maybe you can do that early March in the earliest?
  7. Hello I don't exactly know the answer of your question but could the anouncement date depend on the grant type? for example in my case they anounced the results early april when I applied for the language course scholarship and now I applied for a short term research grant and according to the latest update I got, they will probably anounce the results late march - early april again? which grant did you apply to?
  8. Hello everyone. First of all im so glad that I found this forum and also this topic. I'm from Turkey. 2 yrs ago I applied and was awarded for a short (1 month) summer language course (HSK) in Germany which I completed with success. This year, around mid November, this time I applied for a short term research grant for graduates. BTW I am a master's degree - actually thesis- student. and currently I am waiting for my results. Last time -10 days ago or so- I was notified by DAAD that they got my documents and everything is complete and on February the committee will give the final decision and "as a rule" they announce the results within 3 weeks after the committe. So I hope around late February- early March I HOPE I can get a positive result. 1 - Is there anyone here who was awarded for a DAAD funding earlier and applied for a second time? 2- Do you think this would lessen my chances of getting an admission even if my project/profile seems fine? 3- Is there anyone here who applied for short term research grants this year? Thank you in advance!
