Hey everyone. I was just fixing my shopping cart and noticed a change. Previously all classes said online, and a very few said in person. Now the majority say Hybrid, and few say online. In person amount seems to be the same. I know some had reservations about not be able to receive adequate clinical skills on ZOOM. Also for OYR specific I spoke to a advisor and she stated if the classes do not say OYR in the description we WONT be able to register for that class. Also to mirror with someone said that's in the 2 year clinical cohort. I would love to join some type of group for OYR to better communicate with our cohort specifically *although all incoming MSW are my cohort* and we can all provide support for each.

Yeah there should be more ppl getting emails about pre-orientation but if you have access to cuny first you can search classes there for fall and May out May not be able to save them in your shopping cart

I think I know what you are talking about on a Tuesday if you are OYR. But I removed those options from my shopping cart I didn’t want to take a class online and the following in person. Where would we take? Idk if they would let is be in the building sitting around with Covid? But if I’m not mistaking we can take classes not reserved for your track. But I kind of want to take classes with my cohort since we will be together for 2 year’s. We should be each other’s support. But I think I’m going to meet with an advisor in May closer to registration.

Someone asked about sending their vaccinations with immunization and they said CUNY has not required and they won’t do it at this point. So we can register for the in person classes without the vaccine

They said for spring classes will be in person no more remote. There are options for in person just a few classes.

Question For All: I was putting my classes in my shopping cart for the OYR track and I saw there was 1 or 2 options for each class in person. Are ppl planning on going in person? Practice lab is almost 3 hours I don’t know that I can zoom that long and be engaged. Also there were asynchronous and synchronous online options. I know for sure I have to go at a specific time or I will procrastinate with work and personal life. Just want to know what ppl are planning and how they feel. Also in the pre orientation someone asked the cohort size and they said they can’t tell us because they are still accepting ppl. Just words of encouragement for ppl waiting. They also said full time clinical is the largest cohort. Y’all will get in. Fingers crossed for anyone waiting. Also class registration is may 25th and orientation during summer months so y’all are not missing anything all classes will still be there.

i have confirmed, but in my experience( info session and interview) they send the link to zoom sessions the day of, or the night prior. i didnt receive a email after i chose my day.

Yes you should should the 22nd as well. As long as it is received and confirmed by someone on the 22nd

Yeah they have a track for people already wording in the field (OYR) . Other than that in the interview and information session they said people can’t work and go to school Funtime because of the 20 hours a week internship

When I accepted I clicked the link and completed the form . After the school sent me another form which equals a deposit for admission since it was canceled because of Covid. After in no particular order I received my email, cuny first, net I’d info, and pre orientation date.

Wednesday they started sending emails about pre orientation in late April and early may. They are adding days. And May 20 something is our sw orientation so things are moving along just slow. On this thread there was me and 1 other person going to pre orientation April 29 so far. I think this week more people will get emails.

I do agree with keeping your word when you a give a date. The interviewer who was a prof. said within 3 weeks. After week 3 i was a nervous wreck. More importantly some ppl are planning to move to new states etc. That takes time and planning. Registration starts in May ppl should know what they are doing by now its a huge part of our lives.

I applied and finalized everything before Christmas break didn’t want to have any issues reaching ppl for recommendations etc. it’s coming best of luck.

I was a very early applicant and I wasn’t notified until 4/5 weeks after my interview and was told 3 weeks max. And the pending interview will only change once a decision is made.
