This is true during my msw interview the adjunct kept redirecting ppl to answer the question she asked. It was a bad look.

No I didn’t. I wrote how I got interested in SW, work that I have done in the field, and what I would like to do in the future.

Hunter extended their deadline until April 1st I believe. Also I don’t believe CUNY schools allow you to defer applications so anyone who got in last year and didn’t want to come because of COVID would have to apply all over. Looking at last year applications ppl were receiving acceptance well into the summer for fall 2020. Don’t stress just complete the apps ASAP

Well from my research on MSW programs UmIch was ranked the #1 social work program chicago was 2 or 3

I don’t know smith so I can’t comment. But Hunter has a great program. I know 2 handful of people who went and only have good things to say. If you are not from NY our city is different because of Covid. Things aren’t open like they use to be, and ppl I know moved other places and are working remotely. They say rent went down because of COVID I can’t confirm that. Hunter is also very affordable. I’m also waiting to hear from them.

i started my app in November submitted everything in December. I didnt get a pending interview notice until the first week of February and i received the email to schedule a interview maybe 2 days after i noticed it changed. Interview dates were 7,10,and 14 days away from the day the email was sent.

Hey what can we do. If its your top choice and you can find a bag of money then go. But knowing they wanted you is good enough even if you cant go. Congrats on getting in.

Congrats!!!!!! im still waiting to hear back from them. Had an interview last week for the OYR program hopefully something comes soon.

Everyone who got into Boston University y’all are getting the brain of a football player who was found dead in his hotel last week. They are testing for CTE. I know as SW it’s not your field but it’s cool to know your school is doing this.... I know with the fame will bring funding * wink wink * (some positive news)

With the schools i applied to it went from submitted to pending review....im still waiting for a response. from what i hear once it says decision made or something like that decision should be there. Maybe its the layout and eventually it will change. Also check for emails stating a decision has been made.

In this field going to a school just for the name is not good enough anymore. We have ppl struggling to survive and they need our help. I've had co workers in the past complain after they left NYU they didn't feel like they were ready once they got into the work environment. They were working with homeless and MH population and believed NYU was very privileged and didn't prepare them. I've been at privileged Universities and dint feel like I belonged. This is why Hunter is my top choice. I need to be around a diverse student body and progressive like minded people. The world will never change if we don't require all SW to be on the same page. Its sad to hear what happened, but in reality people are going to go to Columbia because when they add that school to their resume it will be seen. Just a quick note to all future SW i work for a family therapy program here in NYC working with kids in Juvenile justice. I have coworkers who went to hunter and acquired 20k debt and some at Fordham who acquired 120k debt .....WE ALL WILL END UP IN THE SAME PLACES. Private practice is something different after we get our LCSW but until then lets really try to change this messed up world we live in.

My wife works in grad admissions she said add covid into it. im undecided where im going to be attending schools because of the pandemic can i be granted an extension to see what would be best etc.

They email you a link with your user name and password. And that take you to the article. They know people are working from home so you just have to complete the article before 1159pm the following day. I waited some time to decompress from the interview then worked on it.
